The intense spiritual, racial, political and healthcare conflicts that have polarized America in recent years have flooded into every part of daily life. Judging, attacking and canceling others has become a common practice . These ongoing tensions have fractured families, destroyed friendships, divided churches, alienated coworkers, exhausted leaders and driven many pastors out of ministry.
As painful as these tensions are, they provide opportunities for Christians to serve as sowers of peace in a highly conflicted world.
The primary goal of the 2023 Sowing Peace Conference is to equip Christians with gospel-based principles and skills that will enable them to bridge theological, political and cultural tensions, to listen with discernment, patience and compassion to people with opposing views, to use insightful questions to promote reasonable dialogue, and to lead others toward the authentic love, truth, justice and mutual respect that can restore peace to our families, churches and communities.
God alone can change people’s hearts and behavior, but we can be his willing instruments as we learn how to live out the relationship-changing exhortation of Romans 12:18, “If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.”
