Pinkwater Gallery is pleased to present the work of guest artist MIMI YOUNG, whose witty paintings, drawings and sculptures are at once bewitching and illuminating on the subject of what it means to be an artist. The artist talk on July 22 will be hosted by artist and gallerist Anne Sanger, in conversation with artist Melanie Delgado, to chat with Mimi about her journey from art student to fashion stylist to fine artist.
Armed with a BFA in Drawing from Pratt Institute, Mimi’s career as a stylist allowed her to flourish in her birthplace NYC for over thirty years. However, she continuously kept her drawing and painting practice alive, eventually landing in upstate New York as a full-timer, all the while showing her work around the region.
Mimi Young is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Olivebridge, NY. She attended Pratt Institute, where she received her BFA in drawing. She is an active member of the artistic community in the region, having shown over the years in Woodstock, Saugerties, Albany and New York City. Mimi continues to work as a stylist and has a business dedicated to video production and location scouting with her husband, Richard Hall.
