Black Dog Strong Fall Training Team 13.1 Distance Training is happening on Thursday,July 20,2023 at 06:15AM EDT to Saturday,October 21,2023 at 08:00AM EDT at 1600 Farrow Parkway with tickets starting at $125.

  • a seasoned runner who gets needed accountability and/or energy from running with others toward a goal?

  • new to running a particular distance (or in general) and need coaching on training, fueling, gear, and all the things?

  • a runner coming back from a hiatus or injury - or maybe going through a life change - who needs new inspiration, motivation, a purpose?

Coaches Diane and Brent, assisted by a team of mentors, bring RRCA training and years of experience to the table and are here for you.
Prerequisites:
  • Half Marathon Training: Participants should be able to complete a 3-5 mile run or run before training start date.
    This can be a combination of run/walk.
  • 5K Training: There are no prerequisites for this training program.
Target Race Date:
5K: Sunday, September 17, 2023 - Myrtle Beach Tunnel to Towers
13.1 miles: Several half marathons occur in the area during the month of October.
Training Cost:
  • Half Marathon: $125.00/participant (does not include race entry fee)
  • 5K: $85.00/participant (does not include race entry fee)
Program Includes:
  • Daily training plan including a variety of workouts, cross training, and rest days
  • 2 weekly "coach led" team workouts for training team members only.
  • Coach feedback on many of your individual workouts.
  • Team Black Dog Shirt

  • Tips on gear, nutrition, and hydration.
  • Warm-up/cool down stretching
  • Form drills
  • Gait analysis
  • Race day preparation

Training Meeting Times:
  • Saturdays at 6:30am Long Run
  • Thursdays at 6:00 pm - Strength training
  • NEW THIS SEASON: Special workshops targeting:
    • Rucking/running with weight
    • Running with an athlete rider (Ainsley's Angels)
    • Nutrition
