The City of Carrollton is hosting the third annual Ghost Town event on Saturday, October 30 starting at 4 p.m. in Historic Downtown Carrollton (1106 S. Broadway Street).
Come to this spooktacular event – If You Dare! Bring the family and embark on a scavenger hunt for ghosts, grab some candy, enjoy spooky music spun by a live DJ, make a craft or two, watch a Halloween movie, and pick up a free mini pumpkin. Pumpkins will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Test your skills for prizes at games on the event’s carnival midway. The more adventurous can scavenge for hidden ghosts amid a graveyard-like setting and stores around the Square. Participants will follow clues throughout the area, find each ghost, take the ghost’s picture, and present their findings. Collect photos of all the ghosts and receive a spooky treat. Kids will also be able to create a Halloween-themed craft with all supplies provided starting at 4 p.m. and ending when the movie begins.
Most importantly, don’t forget to wear your best Halloween costume and come to the Gazebo on the Square at 6 p.m. for a chance to win the costume contest. After the contest, stick around for some trivia on Halloween movies and stay for a showing of the classic Hocus Pocus (1993), PG at sunset (approximately 7:30 p.m.). New kid in town, Max, struggles to fit in and inadvertently unleashes three, long dead but diabolical, witches on All Hallows Eve in Salem, Massachusetts.
