Play Therapy Skills and Techniques for Anxiety Treatment

This workshop aims to enhance clinicians’ play therapy skills when working with anxious kiddos. Participants will learn current trends related to anxiety treatment and play therapy, practice play therapy skills used in anxiety treatment, and learn interventions to utilize in play therapy with anxious clients.

Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

• Review current child and adolescent anxiety trends in Play Therapy
• Identify and Practice Play Therapy skills utilized in anxiety treatment
• Utilize at least three play therapy interventions appropriate for anxiety treatment

*This program is approved for 3 hours of continuing education by WestGate TCN dba EMERGE Family Therapy Center under its accreditation by the state of South Carolina Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Social Work, and Psychoeducational Specialist. WestGate TCN (EMERGE) is an approved provider of Play Therapy Education #08-235. This 3 hour contact CE will count for 2 hours of play therapy techniques and 1 hour of play therapy special topics. Play therapy credit is only awarded to mental health professionals. Refunds will be permitted up to 7 days prior to the event, Cancellations will be notified via email as soon as EMERGE CE directors are notified by presenter(s).

PARTICIPANTS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING THEIR OWN LUNCH DURING THE CE PRESENTATION.EMERGE does have a kitchen next to the training room with a functioning fridge, microwave, hot water kettle, coffee machine, and toaster oven that client are welcome to use for their meals.

What entrance to the building do I use for the event?

There will be signs outside directing you to the correct entrance. The event will be held on the bottom floor training room of EMERGE. You will enter in the side door of the building (to the right of the parking lot, facing the building) by the concrete staircase.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Your ticket may only be used for this event.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

The name on the ticket needs to match the name of the person attending the event. If you plan to buy a ticket for someone else, make sure to register with the name and email of the person planning to attend the event.

How do I receive CE credit for this workshop?

After the workshop you will receive an online evaluation. Once your evaluation is submitted electronically, you will be emailed a copy of your workshop certificate.

How is EMERGE approaching safety during COVID19?

All who enter the building will be screened for COVID19. Limited tickets are available for in person events, and we are offering online tickets for some CE Events. For those who attend in person, face masks are available and seating is spaced 6 feet apart. Our workshop rooms are also sanitized before and after events.
