STEAM SUMMER CAMP - Entertainment Business

Our two-week intensive camp will be Mondays through Thursdays, beginning June 19, 2023, and ending on June 29, 2023, at the Robert R. Shaw Center for STEAM in Katy, Texas.

Our primary focus of the summer camp is to expose youth to STEAM and other lesser known, non-traditional professions critical to the Entertainment industry, identify careers that align with their personality, aptitude, and interests and expose young creatives with direct access to industry professionals. More pointedly, we will advocate for non-traditional career development that leads to gainful employment.

Some of the careers we will explore include: Food Stylist, Lighting Design, 3D Animation, Props, Automation, Script Writing, Music Supervision, Music Composition and more.

Through a combination of lectures, hands-on exercises, celebrity guest speakers, discussions, and workshops, campers will form a basic understanding of the production process, from conceptualization to post-production, and transform their ideas into proper screenplays, short films, and various projects of their own.
