The Brain and Our Subjective Mind is happening on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 06:30PM EST at Cultural Center, Lycée Français de New York and It's Free

How do we actively construct our "inner cinema"? How do we project its images to the world? What impact on our relationship with the collective and on living together? In dialog with Dr. Lionel Naccache, resercher at Paris Brain Institute, neurologist at Salpêtrière hospital and author; Dr. Gordon Baltuch, neurosurgeon and parent of the Lycée; Siri Hustvedt, writer and lecturer in psychiatry, Weill Cornell Medical College.They will discuss the role of fiction in subjective perception, the construction of empathy in relationships, and the future of the brain, from a transdisciplinary perspective.

The discussion, followed by book signings, will be in English.

Un dialogue entre le Pr. Lionel Naccache, chercheur à l'Institut du Cerveau, neurologue à la Pitié-Salpêtrière et auteur; le Pr. Gordon Baltuch, neurochirurgien et parent du Lycée; et Siri Hustvedt, écrivaine et chargée de conférence en psychiatrie au Weill Cornell Medical College. Dans une perspective transdisciplinaire, ils aborderont le rôle de la fiction dans la perception subjective, la construction des relations d'empathie, et le futur du cerveau.
