The Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Dept. (PBCAD) is delighted to launch its inaugural vernissage party for the Fin’ exhibit showcasing artwork from the recently revamped Artists in Residence (AiR) program. The revamped AiR program now features artists working on a traditional school year timeline – the program starts in the fall with “graduation” in the spring. The 9-month program features an Artist of the Month over eight months with a culminating one-month exhibit showcasing residency projects and other artwork created by the AiRs.
Vernissage events offer a private viewing of artwork to invited guests prior to a public exhibition. PBCAD is holding this event as a preview of the Fin’ exhibit that will be on display at BaCA through the month of June.
PBCAD hopes to build the vernissage into a premiere annual private art event in Pompano Beach. Partners in the event include Business for the Arts of Broward, the Broward County Cultural Division and the Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce. Catering will be provided by South Bar & Kitchen which will open around the corner from BaCA next month (May).
Artwork from the AiRs will be for sale at the vernissage and continue through the end of the Fin’ exhibit in June.
