Top 5 Bars in Northern Liberties

Curated By

In Northern Liberties (or NoLibs, as Philadelphians lovingly call it), there’s no shortage of things to do: shopping, dining, and of course, drinking. We’re featuring five of our favorite bars in NoLibs, so read on to discover your new go-to watering hole in Philadelphia

1. Standard Tap

At Standard Tap, everything is beautiful: this multi-floor establishment is adorned with string lights, open ceilings, and classic woodwork complimenting the American pub feel. As the name suggests, there’s plenty on tap, including most of Philadelphia’s local beers and brews.

2. Bourbon and Branch

This classic bar has a pub feel similar to that of Standard Tap, but smaller and more intimate. Also entirely wooden, Bourbon and Branch has a huge wraparound bar the minute you enter, showing off the vast selection of various bourbons and spirits. Not to mention the food- we recommend the fried chicken sandwich.

3. Jerry's Bar

Known for its dedication to whiskey and sweet neighborhood feel, Jerry’s Bar is a cozy tavern decorated with Philly artifacts and décor. There’s plenty to choose from if you’re not a dark liquor fan; Jerry’s has craft beers (many local), fine wines, and plenty of cocktails as well!

4. The Abbaye

This unostentatious bar has an amazing food menu to match the cocktails, and even has a specific vegetarian menu as well! The Abbaye is the perfect spot to grab a beer with coworkers after a long day and feast on wings and fries. Head over on a Sunday to watch the games and see what we mean!

5. El Camino Real

Keep the mimosas coming (in a glass cowboy boot, no less!), we’re just getting started at El Camino Real! We love this Tex-Mex Southern bar and restaurant, one that really shines during brunch and serves killer margaritas. We recommend the barbeque and the spicy margarita – if you can handle the heat!
