Kids just want to have fun too! There are so many different things to do with kids in Tampa Bay. From exploring art, fossil digging, blueberry picking, even playing with stingrays.

Keel and Curley Farms grows some of the best blueberries in the area. This Plant City farm is also a winery, brewery and restaurant!

While the parents get to relax in the restaurant with some amazing and local blueberry wine, we recommend having someone take the kids to their U-Pick farm.  Here, kids can load up on buckets of fresh blueberries – at a fraction of the price!  

Pro-Tip: Keep an eye out for their annual Blueberry Festival!  This is also a great family friendly event to take the kids.

If you haven’t heard of Goat Yoga at Grady Goat, you’re in for a treat! This special spot brings yoga to animal lovers, where guests perform simple yoga moves and the goats climb on the guests!

This is a great and fun introduction to yoga for kids because it’s super entertaining and one of the top fun things to do with kids in Tampa Bay. After the class, kids will get to take pictures with the goats!

Since Goat Yoga is only open on weekend mornings, we definitely recommend making an early reservation for your tickets.

Located steps away from Curtis Hixon Park, Glazer’s Children’s Museum is the perfect place to visit for a day in Downtown Tampa.  Glazer’s is a non-profit museum, with a mission for children to play and learn through interactive art.

The inside of the museum is filled with different interactive exhibits for kids. The exhibits include painting areas, banking games, an engineer’s workshop, and more. It’s the perfect way for kids to be introduced to different careers and study paths at an early age.

Pro-Tip: After your visit, take a stroll along the Riverwalk and grab a bite to eat at one of the many awesome restaurants!

Ask anyone from Tampa about MOSI, and you’ll find that most everyone has visited as a kid! Carry on the tradition and plan your family visit to the Museum of Science and Industry!

MOSI offers the many different scientific discovery exhibits for kids. They offer dinosaur excavation labs, a space walk and more. If your kids are into outdoor activities, there is also a ropes course and playground outside!

Thrilling rides and water activities are the perfect mix for some fun things to do with kids in Tampa Bay! You can kick back and relax with the family while enjoying some delicious bites and refreshing drinks, then go back for more fun!

For the adrenaline junkie fam, head over to Busch Gardens! There are tons of rides to explore, not just the stomach-dropping coasters. We recommend visiting during the winter to avoid the Florida summer heat! There are plenty of kid-focused rides for all ages to enjoy.

Adventure Island is the perfect summer waterpark to cool off and have some fun. From different waterslides and attractions of all levels, you’ll have to arrive early to fit them all into your schedule!

Dinosaur World is also another classic Tampa tradition. You may have seen this spot while on the highway, spoiler – it’s the one with all the big dinosaurs. Guests will be able to stroll through the parks trails and learn about dinosaurs while taking pictures with their larger-than-life dinosaur figures.

This spot is also perfect for kids because of all their interactive exhibits! We love the Fossil Dig for kids.  This is included with each ticket, where kids dig for fossils in a pit area. They’ll be able to find shark teeth, stingray barbs and more!  They’ll even get to take three of their favorite finds home.

Pro-Tip: Bring your pups along for the ride! This spot is dog-friendly.

Previously known as Lowry Park Zoo, Zoo Tampa is a a 63-acre nonprofit zoo dedicated to educating kids on wild animals. This spot was voted the #1 Family Friendly Zoo in the US by Parents Magazine and one of the best fun things to do with kids in Tampa Bay!  Kids will love checking out the leopards and monkeys here!  

Not only do you get to see different animals, but supporting this spot also is a major contribution to Florida wildlife conservation and biodiversity.

The Florida Aquarium is a great spot for the whole family. Not only are their exhibits super fun and educational, but there is also a stocked water pad play area for the kids!  Included in the ticket price, the water pad includes water spots and randomly operating water bucket drop areas. This is a great place for kids to play and for parents to kick back with some bar snack goods.

Throughout the aquarium, there are also interactive areas that kids love.  Definitely check out the touch stingray area where kids are taught to touch and play with the stingrays. No worries – these rays don’t have stingers, so the kids are completely safe.

The Clearwater Aquarium is great, especially if your kids are fans of dolphins. This aquarium is where the stars of Dolphin Tale live!  Winter, the young dolphin with a damaged tail, was saved here and is featured in this popular kids movie.  

There are also other sea animals to check out but we recommend planning to see their dolphin shows. Here, you’ll get to see a memorial for the beloved and playful Winter, their famous dolphin who starred in the movie Dolphin Tale, who passed away in November of 2021. We loved Winter so much and hope you did too! The kids will love exploring this hometown-vibe aquarium.

Great Explorations is an interactive museum for kids, located in the St. Petersburg area.  Here, kids are able to explore their building and engineering capabilities, learn about weather predicting, and watch different science shows geared towards kids!

For family activities all year round, we recommend purchasing a membership to this museum. For $100 a year, a family of four gets to have unlimited visits to the museum. Keep this location in mind during the summer, when looking for air conditioned activities for kids.

The James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art is a collection of contemporary and traditional art – perfect for introducing kids to analyzing art. Their gorgeous interior design is a must-see, with huge modern wooden rooms.  Take the kids around the museum to learn about American history through their different statues and artifacts.
