Happy birthday,  Houston (8/30)! You’re 185 years old and in those 185 years, you have given us many reasons to love you and we are proud to call you home.  You are diverse, strong, beautiful, and of course, our favorite place to be.

We asked our followers, “What do you love about Houston?” and this is what you said!  We would have to agree with all of these, and we think most Houstonians would agree.

The Diversity – We are more diverse than both New York City and Los Angeles!

Endless Stuff to Do! – There is always something to do in H-Town!

Our Haunted locations – We love a good ghost story!

The Twilight Epiphany Skyspace –  it’s breathtaking!

Montrose – It’s weird,  unique, and walkable.  The. perfect combo if you ask us.

White Oak Bayou –  so many trails to explore!

Lonestar Flight Museum –  learn about some planes or take a flight!

La Carafe – It’s the oldest bar in Houston!

The Dandelion Fountain – whimsical and beautiful!

Eastern Glades –  This wetland park has tons of animal life and honors military history.

Rice Village –  tons of great restaurants and places to shop.

Midtown –  There’s always a new bar to try!

Jim Hogg Park –  The views are beautiful.

Christie’s Seafood & Steak – a true Houston staple.

McGovern Centennial Gardens – Unique and beautiful!

Menil –  Some of the most beautiful works of art.

River Oaks –  We love it all of the time, but especially at Christmas.

Downtown Main Street – The best place to bar hop and ride scooters.

Sabine Street Bridge – Such a pretty spot to grab photos and view the skyline.

The Giant Beetles Statues – an 8th Wonder Brewery must see.

Beyonce – Queen B is Houston Royalty, of course, she made the list.

M-K-T Market – a beautiful marketplace full of local vendors

Houston Ballet – They always put on a beautiful. show!

The Undertaker – Wrestling wouldn’t be the same without him.

Moody Gardens – Especially the butterflies!

Patrick Swayze –  Once the Sexiest Man alive, and we agree.

The Botanic Garden – Beautiful gardens in a relaxing space.

BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Houston –  It’s absolutely STUNNING!

Michael Strahan – The former NFL star never fails to show HOU some love.

Evelyn’s Park Conservancy –  the perfect spot to take. the kiddos for a day of play.

Fat Pat – A Houston rap legend.

Hurts Donut – Who doesn’t want a creepy clown to deliver them Donuts?

Tiny’s Milk & Cookies – Cookies and yummy ice cream, too!

POST Houston – an uber-cool new venue that we love.

Burdlife Jewelry – one of the only spots in Texas to get those super trendy permanent bracelets!

Fireworks Downtown – Catch them on the 4th of July and New Year’s Eve!

The Japanese Garden – a quiet hidden gem we adore.

Aqua S –  dreamy sweet treats that will keep you. coming back.

Jennifer Garner – A true Houston sweetheart in  Hollywood.

Eclectic Menagerie Park – Fun, larger-than-life sculptures that make for great family fun.

The Hobbit Cafe – Second Breakfast anyone?

The World’s Longest Carwash – Ok,  it’s technically in Katy, but we’ll claim it.

1940 Air Terminal Museum – an old airport with some cool planes and history.

Underground Food Hall –  Yep, it’s underground!

Waugh Bridge Bat Colony – Watch them take flight at sunset!

Showboat Drive-In –  We love a good drive-in movie with our besties!

Present Company – Cute atmosphere and yummy drinks!

The Children’s Museum of Houston – You and the kids will love it!

The Mullet –  Not the hairstyle, but the mural park!

Glenwood Cemetery – See the graves of some of Houston’s most historic figures.

George Observatory – Stargaze in Houston on Saturday Nights!
