Need a breath of fresh air? Check out St. Pete’s oldest living museum, home to over 50,000 tropical plants and flowers. Enjoy the 4.5 acres of gardens complimented by waterfalls and flamingos. This stop is sure to amaze and allows photography for amateurs and hobbyists! Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (62+), and $6 for children (2-17). Take a walk across the street afterwards and check out Revolve Clothing Exchange for some great thrift finds.
Whether you’re experienced or a newbie you will love playing a game (or many) at the shuffleboard club. This family friendly spot hosts weather permitting shuffleboard nights every Friday. Volunteers are present to teach attendees how to play so this is a great opportunity to try something new! Entrance is $10 a person for adults and free for kids, well behaved dogs are welcome also.
Pro Tip: Do not park in the Mirror Lake condo lots west of the club to avoid your car getting towed!
Take a trip to the Holocaust museum to honor the victims and survivors of the Holocaust. Learn more about the history of this impactful time through artifacts and works of art. Bring a cellphone and a personal set of headphones to access their Mobile Guide app’s audio guide. Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors (65+), $8 for students (7-17), and free for children (up to 6). Be sure to buy tickets online ahead of time to ensure a time slot for your visit!
Put on your walking shoes and head over to Boyd Hill! This gorgeous preserve surrounds Lake Maggiore in the heart of St. Pete. The trails through the park range from 0.12 – 0.85 miles and total to 5 miles. Boyd Hill Nature Preserve is home to 5 ecosystems and 245 acres of preserved habitat filled with wildlife. To check out all this preserve has to offer head over to the Lake Maggiore Environmental Education Center to access the trails. Tickets are $3 for adults, $1.50 for kids (3-16), and free for children (3 and under).
Take a tour of St. Pete and get a workout at the same time with Coast Bikes! To access pedal bikes download the Social Bicycles app and to access electric bikes download the HOPR Transit app. Pedal bikes are $1 to unlock with the app and 25c a minute afterwords. Electric bikes are $1 to unlock as well, and 35c a minute afterwords.
Bring a blanket and some food and drink to enjoy a picnic at the park! Admission is free for the public, so be sure to take advantage of these fantastic water views. Feel free to bring along a bike or workout mat to get some exercise in at this popular spot as well.
