The Kitchen at Dunlavy offers a unique dining and event experience overlooking the banks of Buffalo Bayou & Lost Lake in Houston.
Whether you enjoy the decor inside or the outdoor patio, you’ll find delicious food for every meal and a comfortable, elegant environment for you and your SO to enjoy date night!
The Tuck Room
Celebrate an important milestone or special occasion at The Tuck Room, a modern speakeasy serving inventive cocktails inside of iPic at River Oaks District! Boasting a vibrant environment with chic décor, prohibition–themed libations, and a clandestine ambiance, this gastro lounge is delicious, contemporary, and small, making it a must for date night spots in River Oaks.
Plus, enjoy The Tuck Room‘s happy hour every Thursday and Friday at the bar from 4PM to 7PM for $5 beer and wine by the glass, $7 farm-to-glass cocktails, and small plates. Who said you can’t get a deal on date night?
Brenner's on the Bayou
This beautiful two-story steakhouse is a picture perfect location along Buffalo Bayou for an enjoyable date to show off to your friends and family later! Brenner’s on the Bayou is a cozy, rustic cocktail lounge complete with dark wood accents, a wine cellar, an outdoor terrace, and most importantly, a romantic ambiance.
A pre- or post-meal stroll through the grounds is a must, where you will find beautiful scenery including lush landscaping, a waterfall, and a gazebo. Every seat in the house offers a gorgeous view and an unforgettable dining experience!
MAD
For a visually stimulating evening, you must check out MAD, a Spanish restaurant that will take Houstonians on a wild and whimsical ride. Inside you’ll find leopards, bears, bulls, and flamenco dancers as well as orange velvet, blue velvet, red neon, blue neon, rotating mirrors, and lots of gold! The restaurant is reminiscent of Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge, just with a Spanish theme.
While you enjoy all the sights, you’ll also love the creative tapas and small bites, wood fire cooked rice, fish and meats, terrific gin and tonic, craft cocktails, and a wine cellar. You’ll get a taste of Madrid’s famous nightlife and the very best of Spanish gastronomy right here in the heart of River Oaks!
a'Bouzy
If you’re in the mood for a’Bouzy evening, try out this champagne–fueled restaurant! With 1,000 different wines to choose from, including more than 250 types of champagne and sparkling, a’Bouzy is perfect for celebrations and every day occasions alike!
The food doesn’t disappoint either. The fresh menu features French-inspired American food, including seasonal seafood, salads, prime meats, and a large raw bar. Pair your drinks with a tasty meal out on the spacious patio for a perfect happy hour or dinner!
Rooftop Cinema Club
Welcome to movie night done in style! Rooftop Cinema Club is an outdoor movie venue located on the roof of BLVD Place with panoramic views of the gorgeous Houston skyline. It has everything you love about a normal movie theater, including food (pro-tip: get a hotdog from Good Dog), craft cocktails, and comfortable seating, but adds so much more for an all-around awesome experience!
Another thing we love about Rooftop Cinema Club is it celebrates diversity with films like Poetic Justice and showcases classics such as Pretty Woman, The Birdcage, Love Jones, and more. Currently, they’re open at limited capacity so you can enjoy your movie with safe social distancing!
Le Colonial
For a more formal, high-end environment, try out Le Colonial, an upscale restaurant located in River Oaks District featuring a sharable and authentic French–Vietnamese menu. Inspired by 1920’s French Colonial Indochina, Le Colonial boasts two stories and a 5,500-square-foot restaurant and lounge.
The lush green patio is perfect for people watching, and the second level is a more relaxed lounge experience, separated into four distinct areas including a private dining area, a north-facing terrace dining room event space, an open-air veranda, and a bar. With lots of seating options and a romantic ambiance, we highly recommend Le Colonial for that special night out!
