A Story By

Are you ready to explore the Wizarding World of Harry Potter? There are two sides to the Wizarding World – Hogsmeade (Islands of Adventure)  and Diagon Alley (Universal). We know planning what to do can be a little overwhelming, so we have the perfect guide for you, curated by locals, to ensure you know where to go, what to eat, what to see, and what to ride.

Our expert staff has all of the best tips, tricks, and recommendations. Keep reading for your guide to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Food & Drinks

There is so much to eat and drink at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, it’s almost overwhelming. Lucky for you, we have a list of recommendations we know you’ll love. We tried it all so we can tell you about the best of the best.

Hogsmeade

  • Check out Honey Dukes for Chocolate Frog’s, Jelly Slugs, White Chocolate Skulls, and more candy that will remind you of the movies.
  • Three Broom Sticks for lunch or dinner. We love the Fish & Chips and Shepherd’s Pie.

Diagon Alley

  • Go to Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour for the best and most unique ice cream.
  • Try traditional British food at the Leaky Cauldron.

Both

  • Butterbeer is a must. It comes in 6 forms – hot, cold, frozen, fudge, ice cream, and potted cream. You can get it almost anywhere in both parks.
  • Try the Pumpkin Juice, available at the quick-service restaurants and carts.

The best way to immerse yourself into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is by getting on the rides. They do such a great job at making you feel like you’re in the action. You feel the fear, excitement, and pure joy that the characters felt. There really is nothing like it. Here are some tips and tricks

Hogsmeade

  • Get in the Virtual Line for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. This will guarantee you a spot on the ride.
  • The Hogwarts Express is almost always a shorter wait going from Hogsmeade to Diagon Alley, so you might want to start your day at Islands of Adventure to avoid the long line.
  • Have a child with you? Check out Flight of the Hippogriff.
  • Walk through the main queue of Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at least once to take in all of the details.

Diagon Alley

  • Make sure to get on Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringott’s early. Since it’s the only ride on the Universal side, the line can get pretty long.
  • The Hogwarts Express has a different experience when you go from Diagon Alley to Hogsmeade.

As if there wasn’t enough entertainment, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter also offers incredible shows! From singing to ceremonies, they truly thought of it all. Here is a list of our favorite ones.

Hogsmeade

  • Hear the vocal stylings of the Frog Choir, accompanied by the smooth bass rumbles of their giant croaking frogs.
  • On select nights, end your day by watching The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle.

Diagon Alley

  • Wait for the dragon to breathe out fire.
  • Sway and groove to the tunes of Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees.

Both

  • Watch the wand sorting ceremony at Ollivanders.
  • Use your interactive wand to cast spells throughout unmarked locations in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.
