Oh hey October, you’re looking pretty dang good so far!
Kick off the month with back to back weekends of my all-time favorite music festival, Austin City Limits.
While the festival brings so many visitors into town I have you covered on stuff to do in Austin to avoid the mass ACL crowds.
Enjoy Austin’s first coffee festival or kick off spooky season early with a visit to the Austin Zoo for their annual Boo at the Zoo fun.
Let’s dive in!
A COFFEE FESTIVAL IS COMING TO AUSTIN!!
Yes, I felt all caps was necessary to truly express my excitement and hype for this event. Listen up, because I have all you need to know about this brewtiful festival.
With more than 80 coffee roasts, you better not be latte to the party. You can expect to enjoy sips from Barley Bean, Austin Java, Black Rock, Tiny House Coffee Roasters, Steamm Espresso, and so many more. Food vendors include HapPea Vegans, Cake Thieves, Barley Bean, Skout Organics, and Granarly.
It gets even better. If you would like to meet the girls behind Stuff to Do in Austin we will be at the festival passing out goodies so come say hi, we would love to meet y’all!
So here’s how tickets work and pay attention because this is very important information if you truly want to make the most of your experience. Admission into the festival is free with RSVP, however, this does NOT get you any coffee tastings. You can purchase coffee and from different roasters.
Next, you can pre-purchase a coffee flight which will get you three tastings of your choice.
If you truly want the ultimate experience the VIP ticket is for you. For $30, you get unlimited tastings of coffee, delicious cocktail and cordials sips, access to the exclusive VIP section, exclusive drink specials, commemorative coffee festival swag, plus more!
This is the perfect day out with the girls, afternoon date, ACL pregame, whatever you want it to be. Don’t mocha me crazy and grab your festival tickets now!

Back for its 18th year, the Austin City Limits Music Festival will be taking over Zilker Park once again.
Originally the festival began as an opportunity for musicians who appeared on the Austin City Limits TV show to perform and has since grown immensely. Now the festival showcases local artists as well as big-name musicians.
Headliners this year include Guns N’ Roses, Mumford & Sons, Childish Gambino, The Cure, Cardi B (W1), Billie Eilish, Tame Impala, Robyn (W2), Kacey Musgraves, Lizzo, and SO many other incredible artists.
Music might be the main attraction for the festival but over the last several years the food has played a large role. Shocking, right? ACL Eats showcases some of Austin’s favorites such as Torchy’s Tacos, Bananarchy, JuiceLand, and SO many more. You won’t go hungry with the options but you may have a hard time picking where to eat!
Some wristbands are already sold out so you may have to purchase them from a resell site so hurry hurry hurry.

Pancakes and booze, can you think of a better combo? Add in some art and you’ve got the perfect event. The creator of this show is hands down a genius.
There will be over 75 artists showcasing more than 300 pieces of artwork. This isn’t your normal art show, this is an anything-goes type of art show.
Your ticket includes all you can eat pancakes, live music from local DJs and music producers, live body painting, and live art available for purchase. Delectable cocktails and craft beer will be available for purchase to help wash down all the free pancakes you will be consuming throughout the night and into the early morning.
The Pancakes & Booze Art Show began in 2009 and are celebrating their 10th year in business. They have popped up more than 500 times in 35 different cities and we’re happy to welcome them back to Austin!

What better way to get into spooky season spirit than with a little Boo at the Zoo fun? Dress up in your favorite costume and enjoy this family-friendly night.
The zoo will be transformed into a haunted wonderland and full of fun activities for all ages. Activities include haunted train rides, children’s shows, haunted house tours, plus more.
You can pack a picnic to have in the picnic grove or you can check out the concession food truck for something special!
The event will be held on Fridays and Saturdays throughout October, so plan your visit before you run out of time.
The Austin Zoo is not your typical zoo. They focus on helping animals in need through rescue, rehabilitation, and education. The zoo is a private, non-profit boasting of over 300 animals across 100 different species.

As I like to say, Wednesday night is basically Thursday and Thursday is the new Friday so Wednesday night is basically the weekend (it helps me get through the week). Anyways, kick off your weekend early with Party for the Parks!
Austin has so many parks around the city and keeping them cleaned and maintained is by no means cheap. Party for the Parks is the largest annual fundraiser to help raise money and awareness for Austin Parks Foundation’s programming and park investments.
The evening will feature local bites, sips, and music! The Peached Tortilla, an Austin staple that screams all things Austin, will be the parties caterer for the night. The food is based on southern comfort but has an Asian flare to it. As for music, local legend, Bob Schneider will be performing.
The event will be held at Republic Square which is Austin’s first park and is a staple in our town!
