Hey, Charlotte! Fall is in full swing, and for this city, that means fairs and festivals and lots of them – Halloween-themed (it’s never too early!), food-focused, Renaissance fests, wine-downs and more, Autumn is the season for things to do in Charlotte!
From the classic horror films at the Ayrsley to Taste of Charlotte, here are just a few of the thing’s we’re looking forward to this weekend in the Queen City.
Are old-school films your thing? Get on down to the Ayrsley Grand where retro has been the king of the Halloween scene since before we can remember.
From October 1st until November 4th, the Ayersley Grand will put on two iconic, classic horror films a night. We’re talking all the original creep shows like Halloween, Psycho, Friday the 13th, the Lost Boys, and more! This freaky film fest has been a Charlotte Halloween staple for years – don’t miss out!

Taste of Charlotte Festival
The all-ages festival for food and fun is back at Truist Field this weekend.
Enjoy food and drink from local vendors serving up any sort of cuisine you can imagine from tried and true local restaurants. There will also be live music, a wine cellar for those of age, and entertainment (like a rock-climbing, obstacle courses, a giant slide, and a bounce house for the kids)!

Hear ye, hear ye – the Renaissance Festival has returned!
This much-missed whimsical whirlwind has returned, and we are thrilled. Operating Saturdays and Sundays between October through November, the Carolina Renaissance Festival is “a 16th-century European style art and entertainment festival blending history and fantasy through outdoor theater.”
Experience arts and crafts, magic tricks, rides falconry, jousting knights on horseback, mythical creatures (Hello, mermaids, fairies and dragons!) feasting like they did in days of yore, and so much more!

Poetry Writing + Performance Workshop with Boris "Bluz" Rogers
Emmy Award winner, poet and Director of Creative Engagement at the Blumenthal, Boris “Bluz” Rogers will lead a workshop in poetry and performance this Saturday at the Harvey B. Gantt Center.
