10 of the Best Diners in Pittsburgh!

A Story By

Diners in Pittsburgh? There are TONS! We’ve made a list of the ten best joints in ‘tahnnn serving up some of the tastiest, mouthwatering, home cooked meals you are craving. Everything from savory and sweet including famous hot cakes, stuffed french toast, breakfast burritos, killer burgers, hot sausage and even meatloaf and liver and onions… don’t knock it til you try it! Where are you headed first?

Sitting at the top of our list is Pamela’s P&G Diner… a true Pittsburgh staple! They claim to have served the BEST breakfast in the city since 1980, and we tend to agree (well, that’s longer than I’ve been alive… but definitely ever since I can remember). Their menu is packed full of deliciousness: homemade hash, omelets and of course their famous crepe-style hotcakes. Hit up one of their six locations around town, you’ll be glad you did!

Next up, we have The Dor-Stop Restaurant! A classic diner located in Dormont serving up one hell-of-a breakfast. Featured on Diners, Drive ins and Dives, the famous mom-and-pop restaurant has all of your favorites including speciality omelets, hot cakes, killer french toast and more. It gets pretty crowded, join the waitlist before you arrive!

Kelly O’s Diner is another one of our all-time favorites! What was once just a dream of Kelly O’Connor’s has blossomed into the neighborhood diner all Pittsburghers know and love. They serve all of your breakfast favorites and have a huge menu to choose from that’s sure to fill you up. The OG location is in the Strip District but there’s more on the way!

Ding ding… order up! This little diner is nothing short of amazing! Enjoy a homemade meal created from Tootsie’s original recipes using the finest and freshest ingredients. Pancakes, breakfast tacos, stuffed french toast and more! There is really something (extremely delicious) for everyone.

Another Strip District staple is DeLuca’s Diner, known around town for their “good mood food.” And be prepared, their food will fill up even those with the biggest appetites! Mixed grill, biscuits and gravy, waffles piled high with all the fixin’s and so much more. They accept reservations for parties of six or more, everything else is first come, first serve!

Ritter’s Diner has a tradition of great food and warm hospitality serving a wide variety of satisfying food for every meal. They have a huge menu of family favorite dishes… some traditional and some not-so-common like melts, gyros, homemade meatloaf and more. Good cooking and good service? You can’t beat that.

New to the dining scene is The Speckled Egg, providing a twist on some our favorite diner dishes! Try their Lox’d & Loaded toast, Buttermilk Poppyseed Pancakes or Lucky Duck Omelette featuring duck conflict. And don’t forget to wash it all down with a Bloody Mary or mimosa!

It may have micro in its name, but we promise their dishes have BIG taste! Head up to Mount Washington to have breakfast, lunch or dinner at this full-service family run restaurant. Swing by Micro Diner for a hot breakfast all day every day, check out the lunch specials, enjoy dinner, or indulge in some late night grub!

Gab & Eat offers mouthwatering homemade food as well as a comfortable and lively ambiance! Located in Carnegie, you can dine-in or carry-out. They have plenty of lip-smacking breakfast dishes but are known for their homemade sweet and hot sausages!

Barb’s Corner Kitchen may not look like much, but it’s packed full of flavor! Family-owned and operated for over 25 years in the heart of Lawrenceville, Barb’s is certainly a crowd favorite! Check out the breakfast specials or enjoy lunch any time of the day.

Bob’s Diner is popular in some of Pittsburgh’s suburbs offering a huge menu and serving breakfast all day! Can we all agree breakfast is the best meal of the day anyways? Choose between classic dishes like breakfast sandwiches and quiche or give some of the specialties a try like the bacon dippers, applewood smoked bacon coated in pancake batter!

Cherries Diner | All food served with a smile and a cherry on top!
