When it comes to sushi restaurants, the Queen City is home to some of the most vibrant and versatile spots we’ve seen in a while. Whether you like your sushi served up in traditional Japanese style or prefer a little fusion, there’s something for everyone when it comes to sushi restaurants in Charlotte!

From South Park to South End, Plaza to Park Road, here’s our list of some of the shining stars of sushi in Charlotte.

Ru San’s vibrant Park Road location has been a longtime Charlotte choice for casual dining in a cute and cozy setting. But don’t let that fool you, the menu at Ru San’s is vast and varied, including everything from sushi and sashimi (we’re talking pages of options) to teriyaki, hibachi, noodles, fried rice, soups and more!

Try one of their traditional rolls like the OMG (crabstick, aioli, cucumber, avocado), or if you’re feeling more adventurous, check out one of their specialty creations, like the Exotic roll (shrimp tempura paired with mango and sweet chili sauce).

One of the freshest new additions to the Dilworth dining scene, Konnichiwa is a stylish and delicious concept. With selections that range from the tried and true to experimental and even a handful of all veggie options, Konnichiwa is positioned to quickly become a neighborhood favorite.

Konnichiwa is known for its Chef’s Specials – inspired, one-of-a-kind takes on Asian flavors that you can’t find anywhere else. Fan favorites include the Sin-Chan Roll (salmon, avocado, and cream cheese topped with crab salad, scallop tempura, spicy aioli, kabayaki sauce, bang bang sauce, bubu arare, and scallions), and the simple but scrumptious Chicken Miso Ramen if you’re not in a sushi mood.

It’s official. O-Ku is one of Atherton Mill’s hot spots. This sushi spot serves up the freshest fish from renowned markets in Norway, Scotland, New Zealand, and Hawaii to name a few.  At once exotic and traditional, O-Ku’s menu is comprised of Japanese classics and contemporary staples.

The mission at O-Ku is to present traditional-style sushi in an approachable way, and they do an amazing job at just that. One of our favorites? The Avocado Wrapped Roll – a melange of seasonal vegetables, pickled ginger, and tropical fruit salsa. And don’t forget to try the much talked about Yama Kale Salad while you’re at it!

CO, already a big hit in Atlanta, Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Raleigh, and Savannah has finally landed in the Queen City. Already one of the most talked-about sushi restaurants in Charlotte, CO is a modern take on traditional Southeast Asian cuisine in a lush ultra-contemporary setting.

Aside from delicious sushi, CO also offers pho, banh mi, dumplings, and carefully curated cocktails. We absolutely love it all! Try the Firecracker (tempura shrimp, cucumber, avocado, and yamagobo, topped with spicy tuna, sriracha, spicy aioli, and masago) or the pressed sushi – you won’t regret it!
