“Breakfast is a meal but brunch is a culture.” – Matt Basile
We all know brunch in Houston is one thing that is undefeated! The way you start your mornings on the weekend sets the tone for the rest of your day–so why not start off strong with the best brunch spots in Houston. Since we can’t fit all the foodie gems in one blog, we’re focusing on one neighborhood at a time. Washington Corridor & Memorial Park – you’re up!
Grab your mimosa and keep scrolling for our picks for the best Mother’s Day brunches in Washington Corridor & Memorial Park.
Note: Washington Corridor & Memorial Park runs along Washington Avenue from Memorial Park to I-45, with I-10 to the north and the Buffalo Bayou to the south.
This local mini-chain is one of our personal go-to spots, that never disappoints. Feast on crazy good breakfast treats like apple bacon empanadas, freshly baked cinnamon rolls, carnitas Benedict, CFS & eggs, and butter-poached lobster omelets.
The best part: they serve bottomless mimosas!!
Brunch isn’t the same without fried chicken and champagne, so head to Max’s Wine Dive and indulge in both.
Sip mimosas by the glass or get a reasonably-priced bottle of bubbly with juices included. Next, you HAVE to try the jalapeño-buttermilk marinated fried chicken wings, paired with a waffle, of course.
Another house and personal favorite? The fried egg sandwich, that’s the size of an entire plate. It’s stacked with fried eggs, bacon, melted parm, gruyere provolone, and white cheddar cheese, and some black truffle aioli!
This gem doesn’t get enough hype for their great food and all-around chill atmosphere. Their patio is dope, filled with murals, yard games, TV’s, and it’s dog-friendly.
At brunch, the menu includes house cornbread and pulled pork eggs benny, buttermilk waffles, and smothered chicken fried chicken biscuits & gravy. Pair your meal with a build your own mimosa, or a spicy Bloody Mary.
Dress up or dress down. A bourbon or a beer. A ribeye or a burger. Whatever you’re feeling, there’s a little something for everyone! During brunch, decide from buttermilk biscuits & gravy to fried cheeseburger egg rolls, and Thai shrimp & grits.
Whatever you choose, you honestly can’t go wrong.
Get brunch with a side of the bayou beauty. The lodge setting on the side of the Buffalo Bayou is exactly what we call picture-perfect!
It’s all about Southern hospitality at Brenner’s, from New Orleans-style beignets drizzled with raspberry honey and apple rum sauce, to eggs benny with jumbo lump crab cake, the options here are too delicious.
