2. Harriet Tubman and Maryland's Underground Railroad - Livestream Tour
“Bringing people together to experience the history and culture of Washington DC” is exactly what the non-profit community organization Washington, DC History & Culture is giving us. They will be providing the amazing virtual program of Harriet Tubman & Maryland’s Underground Railroad Sites – Livestream History Tour.
The online program will focus on the meaningful and inspiring life of Harriet Tubman, who was an American abolitionist and political activist; the program will also display most of the Underground Railroads associated with her in Maryland. Tubman was born into slavery, escaped, and heroically saved many people, including friends and family with her network of antislavery activists and safe house known as the Underground Railroads.
The host for this historical event will be Robert Kelleman which is the founder and director of the non-profit community organization Washington, DC History & Culture. Mr. Kellman has hosted many in-person tours of the Underground Railroad sites, both in Maryland and Washington, DC and we’re sure this experience will be just as great!
