5+ Must Visit Charlotte Ice Cream Spots

Summer is here in Charlotte  and one of our favorite things to do on a warm evening is head out to a local Charlotte ice cream spot and grab a scoop! 

Ready to try a new ice cream flavor or venture out to a new location you’ve never been to before? We’ve got you covered! Here are some of the coolest ice creameries in Charlotte that you must try this summer! 

If you haven’t tried Ninety’s ice cream yet (or seen them on Instagram) you MUST make this a destination on your summer list! This family-run shop in the University City neighborhood is known for its over the top ice cream sandwiches and crazy cereal milkshakes. Be prepared, you might have to skip dinner for this treat!

Ninety’s is taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of their customers and staff. They are now offering online ordering and front door pick up as well as complying with all CDC regulations for social distancing. 

Two Scoops Creamery is a local favorite and know for their “dual top cone.” They have an array of unique, fun flavors that rotate throughout the year.  Next time you go, try Cookie Monster… you won’t regret it. 🍪

Two Scoops is doing curbside, you can call on your way in or they can take your order outside then bring it out to you!

They are also doing delivery at their Plaza and Southend locations. They have a 4 pint minimum and a 3 mile radius! 

Mr. K’s is the original soft serve in Charlotte. They have been open and operating since 1967 and have more than just ice cream! This is the spot if you are looking for that traditonal, perfect soft serve ice cream or want a quick, affordable bite to eat in the heart of South End. You’ll think you’re back in the sixites with Mr. K’s “soda shoppe” feel and their family-friendly service!

CLOSED SUNDAY

Mr. K’s is open for dine-in seating and outdoor seating as well as adhering to the state’s guideline of 50% capacity. They are marking off tables to make sure social distancing is being practiced and strictly adhering to the cleaning guidelines set forth by the state!

For anyone not ready to dine-in they are still excepting call ahead and walk in take-out orders!

The Local Scoop embodies all of North Carolina at it’s finest! They source all of their dairy fresh from local farms which makes the ice cream that much better. Even the strawberries used for their strawberry ice cream are locally sourced. Count us in! The Local Scoop also have non-dairy options and two soft serve gelato if you are looking for more variety.

The Local Scoop has all of their response to Social Distancing on their website  as well as all of the new guidelines and changes they have created to make for a better experience in the store!

Golden Cow Creamery was founded by two Charlotte natives whose love of ice cream created a Queen City staple. All of their ice cream is made from scratch and their most popular is the salted Oreo flavor! Attention vegans… this place always has at least one non-dairy vegan options on hand!

Golden Cow is also doing take-out service! You can order through the Door Dash app at any time.
