Did you know that there is a dessert speakeasy in Deep Ellum?! Meet Shaved balls of ice! Tucked behind a fence, or rather two, you’ll find a little takeout window with instructions on how to order your shaved ice. After a few minutes you’ll receive a text to pick up your order. It’s super easy and so fun! We got the Piña Alotta, which comes with a vanilla ice cream foundation, fruit-shaved ice covered with pineapple and coconut syrup, topped with whipped cream and served in a hollowed-out pineapple. How cool is that?!

Hawkers – Cinnamon Roti à la Mode

Hawkers is one of our favorite places in Deep Ellum. They have an awesome atmosphere, indoor and outdoor dining, plenty of instagrammable moments, and of course a delicious selection of food and drinks. The menu features passed-down street food family recipes from all over Asia. Don’t sleep on their dessert! The Cinnamon Roti à la Mode is so delicious and we wouldn’t want you to miss out on it. It’s made out of Malaysian flatbread with cinnamon and sugar served with vanilla ice cream.
