Disney World on a Budget: Make The Most Out Of Your Vacation

  • June 5, 2024

Orlando is known for being home to some of the best theme parks in the world. These theme parks also tend to end up being quite expensive, especially Disney World. No need to worry! We are here to share some of our best tricks and tips to doing Disney World on a budget!

Magic Kingdom

Let’s start off the most popular of all the Walt Disney World parks, The Magic Kingdom. While there are a lot of experiences at The Magic Kingdom that cost a pretty penny, there are still ways to have fun and keep your spending low!

  • The rides- It doesn’t cost anything to ride the rides in the Disney Parks! While you can purchase Disney Genie+ to gain access to the lightning lanes, if you visit the parks during the slower season, like the fall, the standby wait times usually aren’t that bad!
  • Snacks- While Magic Kingdom does have some great sit down restaurants, they also have plenty of great quick service restaurants and snack locations. If you’re looking for a great place to sit down to a quick meal with our family Casey’s Corner on Main Street USA is one of our favorites! Their corn dog nugget are *chefs kiss* and they always have great hot dog options with unique topping combinations! Another great quick service location is Pecos Bills located in Frontierland! As for snacks, Storybook Treats located in Fantasyland serves soft serve ice cream and ice cream floats that change out seasonally and are occasionally themed to popular attractions and characters!
  • Souvenirs- Magic Kingdom is full of fun Disney souvenirs! The Emporium on Main Street USA is the biggest store in the park. Here you can find just about anything! While a lot of the merchandise may be pricey, they also offer things like Minnie ears, keychains, and trading pins that are a little more budget friendly!

Hollywood Studios

The next park on our list is Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This is the perfect place to step right into the movies! And just like the other Disney Parks, this can also be done on a budget!

  • Attractions-  While Hollywood Studios does have the infamous Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land full of fun movie-themed attractions, the park also has great shows! If you’re looking for some nostalgia, check out the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular or if you’re feeling like belting out some of your favorite Disney songs with your favorite characters, check out For The First Time In Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration!
  • Snacks- Hollywood Studios has some pretty cool snacks you can’t get in any of the other Disney parks. While you’re in Galaxy’s Edge, head on over to the Milk Stand to get a refreshing blue milk before you blast off into hyperspace and control the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Don’t forget to head on over to Woody’s Lunchbox and enjoy some tasty totchos after you’ve spent some time playing with all the toys!
  • Souvenirs- Hollywood Studios is the perfect Disney park for some movie-related merch! While there are things in Galaxy’s Edge that are quite pricey like the droids and light sabers you can build yourself, there’s also a huge selection of affordable Star Wars goodies like ears, plushes and trading pins!

Epcot

The last Disney park on our list is Epcot. Not only is this a great place for snacks and fun rides, this is the ideal place if you are feeling like traveling around the world in one day!

  • Rides- Epcot is full of educational and fun rides that are not only great for all ages but are also free just like all the other parks! You can go from learning about China, to learning about where our food comes from on Living With The Land. You can then head on over to Mission Space and travel up to space!
  • Snacks- Epcot probably has some of the best snacks around all the Disney Parks. As you travel around The World Showcase, you will have the chance to try different types of food from all over the world! If you’re visiting during Flower and Garden Festival, make sure you try the infamous violet lemonade!
  • Souvenirs- Epcot is also the perfect place to do some shopping! While they have stores with traditional Disney merch, each country around The World Showcase has stores with items from that country. Make sure you check out Die Weihnachts Ecke, the Christmas shop in the Germany Pavilion where you can learn about their Christmas pickle tradition and even get a Christmas pickle of your own!
