Drive-Ins and More Stuff to Do in Austin This Weekend

A Story By

Fall… is that you!? We’re wrapping up August this week, and while it’s still hot as can be in Austin, we’re trying to manifest some crisp Autumn air into our lives.Β

Whether you’re holding onto what’s left of summer or are so ready for scarves and cider, we’ve got things to do in Austin that will satisfy whichever way you’re trying to enjoy the rest of this month. Keep reading for this week’s guide to ATX!

Things to Do in Austin This Week:

Grab the family and head to Community First! Village for a night at the movies! We know that these days you can stream just about anything you want at home, but we think that making an event out of going to catch a flick is still so much fun. Spies in Disguise will be playing, and you can make this kids’ movie totally adult friendly by pre-ordering a cheese plate from Anotonelli’s! You have to pre-order your cheese plate by August 26.

If you miss the cheese plate deadline, drinks and candy will be available for sale when you check-in before the movie. And as always, don’t forget to bring a mask!

One of the ways that organizers are trying to still bring us live music is by offering options to attend concerts from the comforts of our own cars! This open-air drive-in concert series is a perfect date night idea that gets you out of the house and back into the Austin music scene.

These concerts are promised to be a full festival experience– so get ready to have a rockin’ weekend. And don’t forget the snacks! We suggest you either grab carryout from your favorite local restaurant or snag a Grazeology box (like this one!) and strap in for a fun evening tailgate. Want to know who’s playing!?

Night One:
David Ramirez, Jonathan Terrell, Jaimee Harris, Indian & The Jones

Night Two:
Sir Woman, Jackie Venson, The Bishops, Heart of the City

Night Three:
…And You Will Know us by The Trail of Dead, Quiet Company, Swimming With Bears, Think No Think

Proceeds from the concerts benefit the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM).

It’s no secret how much we love our pups and we love to bring them with us everywhere we go. Austin is such a dog-friendly city and we think you should show your four-legged friend some extra love for their special day!

We have a guide of dog-friendly restaurants in Austin for you to check out. We broke it down by location so all you have to do is select the location nearest to you on the table of contents and you will be redirected straight to that section.

Hope you and your furry friends have a pawesome time at these sweet spots!

We’ve also got a super fun paw-ty for you! Head to Zilker for some free pup-a-ccinos and get your bff ready for all the belly scratches they can handle:
