Congrats! You made it to 2020. Not just a new year, but a whole new DECADE ahead of us. That’s pretty cool, and we’re definitely big fans of that “fresh start” feeling.
We’re hoping to see a ton of new events popping up this year so we can bring you the best of the best. But for now, let’s highlight the best events in Nashville that we know we can look forward to this year.
On the majority of Thursdays in August, and the entirety of Labor Day weekend, you can head down to Public Square Park to enjoy Lightning 100’s FREE concert series and some food from delicious food trucks.
The music is obviously great considering how notable the performing artists/bands are, but when you stop for a lobster roll at the Cousins Maine Lobster food truck, that’s all you’ll be thinking about!
Though the festival is free, there are a couple paid VIP options to enhance your experience:

- Unlimited Access to VIP Lightning Lounge
- ‘On The Rail’ Stage Viewing for Both Stages
- Complimentary Catering from 6PM–8PM
- Complimentary Beer, Wine, Water, and Soda

🗓 Thursdays in August
📍 Public Square Park
A 4-day long Country Music festival with free concerts from more than 100 Country artists and other activities–who wouldn’t be excited?! This is Music City, after all.
Possibly the biggest event every year, CMA Fest is a MUST. The greatest part is that if you don’t want to spend money on tickets for the nightly Nissan Stadium shows, you can still see some really amazing artists perform for FREE at any one of the free stages around downtown Nashville. We love that.
Check out our Guide to CMA Fest for more details and tips!

We look forward to this event for a couple of reasons. #1, we’re obsessed with the venue, The Park at Harlinsdale. #2, the lineup is always amazing.
This year’s lineup has yet to be released but make sure to check back here or on their website. Last year’s lineup included the Foo Fighters, Killers, and Keith Urban. So you can only imagine who it could be in 2020!
📍 The Park at Harlinsdale
This all-inclusive food tasting event is one of the biggest in the area! For a set price, you can enjoy sample dishes and drinks from restaurants all over Nashville in a laid back, outdoor setting–all while enjoying live music from local musicians.
