Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium

Discovering fish and other marine life is a dream come true for most kids. Mote Aquarium in Sarasota provides an extraordinary experience for everyone. The aquarium is home to stingrays, exotic fish, sharks, manatees and more. 

Expand the excitement by visiting the stingray touch tank and feeding the sharks! Mote Aquarium is near St. Armand’s Circle and Lido Beach. We’d recommend parking downtown and hopping on the Trolley. Kids think it’s an awesome ride without a carseat and parents can enjoy the views too!

Tree Umph! Adventure Course

Bob's Train

All aboard Bob’s Train in Sarasota! If you’re kiddos love trains, this is a must. Bob’s Train is the best kept secret that keeps a little piece of the beloved circus history alive in Sarasota. Hop on the train for breakfast or lunch and be ready to learn a lot about trains and history. 

Bob will share his incredible knowledge and stories as he cooks your food on these vintage and historic train cars. The photographs and memorabilia from the circus adds a very extraordinary experience. They are known for their burgers, and you really can’t go wrong with one!

Big Cat Habitat Gulf Coast Sanctuary

Big Cat Habitat is a non-profit that has over 150 exotic and domestic animals in need of a safe home. This animal sanctuary is home to big cats and other wild species, some of which were rescued from the circus too. If your kids love animals, this is an amazing day trip to watch tigers play in their pools, get hands-on at the petting zoo, and experience light educational demonstrations. The staff is very friendly and full of information on all of the animals!

The Ringling

The Ringling has an amazing playground, fun mazes and a relaxing picnic area. This 66 acre estate was the legacy of John and Mable Ringling. The Ringling Museum of Art is the state art museum of Florida and has a remarkable collection of artwork, statues, circus history, and so much more. The Ringling is great for the little ones of all ages with storytime, kids quests, art making, scavenger hunts and more! You can easily spend the whole day here!

Evie's Tavern & Grill on Main Street

Evie’s on Main Street is a fun spot for the whole family, especially when there’s a big game on. This tavern offers great food, pool tables, bowling and overall a day of fun. Come for lunch and to cheer on your favorite team, and stay for a few games of bowling too. We recommend ordering the chicken wings, tacos or a burger. Everyone will have a good time here!
