We hope everyone had a safe, healthy, and Happy New Year celebration. There’s no need to keep the fun away just because the celebrations are over! Sure we all have new goals, a clean slate, and new expectations to keep in mind and work on, but we’re all about working hard AND playing hard too!

Reminder: Due to COVID-19, we understand there’s not as much going on as normal in our city. But not to worry, there are still plenty of Things To Do In San Antonio This Weekend that can be done while social distancing. Be sure to double-check for any updates at events and venues before making plans to head out.
1. Wicked Wonderland 15 and UP
Are you ready to get your Picasso on? With wine AND snacks involved, the possibilities of marvelous art, highly likely!! Join painting with a twist for a much needed peaceful, wintry escape. Just like the masterpiece you’ll be creating!
Class will start promptly, so make sure to arrive early to sign in and get your snackaroos ready! Ice will not be provided but cups, wine openers, and chillers will be.
- BYOB (drinks and snacks)
- 21 and over to drink, 16 to join in on the painting fun.
- It is mandated by the city that all customers wear a mask in the studio.
- Absolutely no children or infants. Online reservations are required to secure a guaranteed spot.

2. Free Family Fun Nights
We’ve got our thinking caps on for the New Year, how about you? Learning and exploring, get your creative sparks going at The DoSeum for Free Family Fun Night!
Hands-on activities are definitely a MUST but don’t worry, health and safety are TOP priority for everyone! Check out the new policies and promises (here.)
Important information: The link to access tickets will be posted at 8am the day of the event, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Check-in will be at 4:45pm and doors will open up for fun at 5pm.

3. Yoga on the Patio at Cherrity Bar
Start the year off right with meditation, a stretched body, and circulation flowing through your whole system at the PATIO! Join the community for a midweek yoga session with a beautiful sunset and a chill breeze.
Can’t get enough of how awesome this sounds? Don’t worry there’s a special yogi happy hour with scrumptious food and super special cocktails from Kuriya at Cherrity Bar right after!
There will be a $5 minimum donation and free parking will be provided on-site or at the Alamodome, across the street. Happy stretching!

4. SATX - Coding 101 Virtual Workshop
Let’s take it back to the 2000s when you would log into MySpace to change your layout, add music to your profile, arrange your top 8 friends, and then you added dropdowns to your Super Cool profile! Well, not exactly but if you’re curious or interested in learning the basics of coding, then this workshop is for you!
Improve or learn a new skill, and add it to your resume!
What you’ll learn? You’ll learn basic programming fundamentals that will give you the opportunity to practice basic programming ideas.
What do you need for the workshop? You will need a laptop that has Google Chrome installed. Please look out for an email confirmation with a Zoom link.

5. Make & Take: Handmade Pasta - Garganelli, Farfalle & Cavatelli
Vacation restrictions got you feeling blue this New Year? Please turn that frown upside down, because this hands-on pasta class will have you feeling like you’re in Italy! Mama Mia!
You’ll get to enjoy and sample 3 kinds of pasta AND 3 sauces. You’ll get to witness how easy it is to make pasta dough AND you’ll get a chance at forming it yourself. Not to mention taking your final products home at the end too!
- Garganelli (Ridged, Tubular Shape)

- Cavatelli (Shell Shape with Curved Edges)

Safety precautions will take place to keep everyone safe. “We ask that you return a signed copy of the waiver for each attendee via email prior to class.” Masks must be worn during cooking school and there will always be a 6ft distance. This class will be for ages 18 and up.
