Hear from members of the HOU Crew! Some traditions new, others old. But they’re all priceless ways to come together in light of Father’s Day.
“I’m a huge daddy’s girl!! Our tradition is going to the Ranger’s Baseball game, drinking a cold beer, and eating all the junk food. My mom, sister, and I love celebrating him, especially on Sunday. We’ll cook breakfast, watch movies, have the whole family over for a cook-out, and just enjoy each other’s company.”
“Since my dad lives in Dallas, I’ll be driving up to stay with him for the weekend. My family loves to keep it simple so there’s more time to enjoy the genuine moments. We will be grilling out and having a movie night. I may be more excited than him!”
“When I get to see my dad for Father’s Day we usually just cookout at his house. But if we are spending time together we are fishing, hunting, or at a Jiu-Jitsu class.”
“My father-daughter bonding time was always rock climbing. We’ve been going to Texas Rock Gym since I was a kid. Momentum is here and in Katy so I would suggest rock climbing and then a beer with a view at Buffalo Bayou Brewing!”
“My dad and my family would celebrate similar to Whitney. We would have a fajita cookout and invite our immediate family and uncles to celebrate at our house. Lots of music, food and fun times. We’d switch it up sometimes and also go to the beach or fishing when we were younger!”
“I like to take my dad to the Art Museum on ‘Free Museum Thursday’s’ grab some coffee or dinner and have a picnic at the sculpture garden.
I do remember one year we went to discovery green, on Father’s Day weekend, and we saw that Animatsuri was happening while we were there and we just went because why not?! We also like to make Father’s Day fun and spontaneous and see where the day takes us!”
