When you think of Texas barbecue, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? If you thought LeRoy and Lewis Barbecue, you thought right! LeRoy & Lewis is a popular food truck on South Congress that is located just northeast of South Congress Avenue and Ben White Boulevard.
What makes this food truck unique is the variety of meat options on the menu like confit beef cheeks, smoky brisket burgers, and salty bacon ribs. The owner takes a lot of his inspiration from seeing other people’s barbecue creations while putting his own spin on then. Some of the portion sizes are definitely sharable so keep that in mind when ordering certain meals. This is definitely a place to add on your list of food trucks on South Congress to check out!

Papalote’s menu holds true to authentic, traditional, classic Mexican food. All of the items on the menu are a homage to the owner’s mother, featuring recipes adapted from her South Mexican heritage.
While you can order delicious classic Texas tacos or be a little adventurous by ordering shredded pork with mole pipian and chipotle-stewed beef tacos with plantains in place of the familiar carnitas. The best part is that this Mexican street food goes beyond just tacos. Papalote has tortas, tostadas, sopes, blue corn-potato cakes, and much more!

These bagels are so good that even people born and raised in New York will approve! The founder, Marco Fiorolo, lived in New York, so the recipes and ingredients are top of the line. This food truck is every coffee and breakfast lovers’ dream. They offer five classic bagel options with plenty of add-ons. You can also order a customizable breakfast bagel with a choice of bacon, sausage, and ham as well as eggs made your way.
Aside from the yummy food, the aesthetic is over the top adorable! Wham’s truck is a refurbished Ultra Van RV that is as bright and vibrant as the South Lamar restaurant, boasting gorgeous pink, gold, and fuchsia lettering! This spot is an absolute must for your next breakfast outing.

A few of the yummiest items to try are the fried leg quarter, the chicken sandwich with sweet chili-honey and green papaya relish, and the crispy thigh wings (or cauliflower for vegetarians). South Congress would not be complete without a pizza food truck. Whether ordering pizza by the slice or pizza by the pie, Li’l Nonna’s is sure to please. This food truck on South Congress is unique in its vegetarian and vegan options for those with dietary restrictions who still crave a good slice of pizza.
They also serve pizzas topped with house-made vegan mozzarella, seitan Italian sausage, and other vegetable toppings. A classic option is the Margherita (with regular mozzarella and pecorino) which is one of my favorites!
