Work on that bikini body with spending a ton on a gym membership. Get fit at Discovery Green with their free weekly exercise classes. No registration necessary, all you need is a water bottle, towel, and a yoga mat.

Feel cultured and get inspired at the Art Car Museum. The museum’s goal is to encourage the public’s awareness of the cultural, political, economic and personal dimensions of art.

Free to explore, view work by local, national, and international artists. This museum is perfect for both art and car fans.

Get some fresh air and go for a walk through Houston Arboretum. This 155-acre nature sanctuary has 5 miles of walking trails that wind through forest, meadow, and wetland habitats to explore.

Take in the beautiful scenery and enjoy looking for the surrounding wildlife. They even offer free guided nature walks on Saturday mornings! Bring the family, get your steps in with friends, or take a romantic stroll through Houston Arboretum.

Spend a beautiful day in the park and check out the Water Wall. Created nearly 35 years ago, Waterwall park has 2.77 acres to enjoy and features a beautiful 64-foot semi-circular architectural fountain.

Sunbathe in the field, take your furry friend on a walk or bump up your Instagram content with a picture at the Water Wall. Waterwall Park is the perfect spot to spend a peaceful afternoon.

Experience James Turrell’s “Twilight Epiphany” Skyspace in Houston. Turrell’s composition of light complements the natural light present at twilight and transforms the Skyspace into a locale for experiencing the beauty and reflecting on the surrounding campus and the natural world.

Open and free to the public, head over before sunrise or sunset to guarantee a good viewing spot.

📍Suzanne Deal Booth Centennial Pavilion, Houston, TX 77005

Witness something amazing, the Waugh Bridge Bat Colony. Free for the public to enjoy, watch on in amazement as Mexican free-tailed bats emerge nightly to stretch their wings and feed on area insects.

Unlike most bat colonies, these bats stay in Houston all year long. Come and observe this natural phenomenon, but please be respectful by keeping your distance, staying quiet, and by not interacting with any of the bats.

Enjoy a beautiful day at Eleanor Tinsley Park. Go for a scenic bike ride along their trails, play lawn games with friends in the signature lawn, and have a picnic in the open-air pavilion.

Check out their event schedule to see what they have going on at the amphitheater or join a league and play at the volleyball courts. Soak up the sun and escape your worries at Eleanor Tinsley Park.

Travel to another world without having to stamp your passport with a visit to The Shri Swaminarayan Mandir. This gorgeous structure was built as a place of worship and prayer for followers of Hinduism, but is always welcoming visitors of every religion.

Free to explore, experience unique exhibits that will teach you all about the faith and culture of Hinduism.

Walk around the boardwalk and explore Galveston Island. Kayak or paddle board through the marshes and bayous of Galveston Island State Park.

Catch a few thrill’s at several boardwalk attractions or walk about and enjoy the ocean breeze. Explore and gain an education on Galveston Island’s African American History. With so much to do and see, you can easy spend a day or two on island time.
