Living in Orlando provides no shortage of things to do. Boasting tons of trendy bars, incredible restaurants, stellar entertainment, cute coffee shops, fresh farmers markets, and plenty of other incredible opportunities, every weekend can be packed with fun. But what’s a weekend bucket list without someone to share it with?

Orlando may be a flourishing city filled with thousands of residents, but finding a bestie or new friend group to share it with can prove to be a challenge at times. So let’s get the good times rolling with some great ways to make new friends in Orlando!

Tons of local businesses across Orlando offer fun and creative workshops and classes in group settings. So many of these opportunities allow you to hone in on your interests and meet others who enjoy the same hobbies in the process!

Looking to sharpen your photography skills? Pop over to a workshop at Qreate Coffee and Studio! Itching to create a beautiful and aesthetically perfect charcuterie board? The House on Lang is the place to be to get your creative juices flowing!

Every weekend, you’ll find dozens of new events, shows, shops, and experiences popping up around The City Beautiful. If you’re seeking inspiration for a new piece of artwork or ways to spruce up your backyard, try heading out to the Artisan Market or the Home and Garden Show. There are plenty of local events entering the Orlando sphere weekly and are perfect stops for mixing and mingling with new friends.

3. Venture out for a sunset cocktail hour

Honestly, what better way to bond with new friends than over cocktails at sunset? Orlando has dozens of incredible rooftop stops with breathtaking sunset views and scrumptious signature cocktails. Step outside of your comfort zone and take a seat at the bar – you never know who could take the stool next to yours or who’s serving up the drinks behind the bar!

We may not have a beach or coast hiding somewhere in the middle of our city, but Orlando does have plenty of parks, lakes, and nature worthy of admiration! Pack up a picnic basket, grab your favorite book to bring along, and head out to see some stunning scenery – and, perhaps, make a new friend along the way!

5. Spend the day working from a coffee shop

Good friends and good coffee are really the only two things a person could need, and Orlando is here to deliver a little of both! Set up shop for the day as you take “work from home” to working from a local coffee shop.

Enjoy delicious brews, lattes, teas, and more all while enjoying the company of other coffee lovers at Craft and Common, The Robinson Room, Deeply Coffee, and many more!

A shared love for the theater or entertainment can easily be the glue to a newfound friendship. Luckily, Orlando creates plenty of opportunities to make a new friend through the arts. Check out the Dr. Phillips Center, Renaissance Theater, the Orlando Ballet, and other local venues for some current and upcoming shows. You could snag a ticket for a seat next to your new BFF.

Pup Coffee Shops

Dog people are good people, and there’s no better way to break the ice with fellow dog lovers than by bringing your pup along for the fun! While your four-legged friends play and mingle, there’s room for you to meet some of the best dog moms and dads Orlando has to offer. Take a walk around Boxi Park, spoil your furry friend at the Wolfgang Bakery, or enjoy a delicious slice of pizza at the pet friendly Park Pizza & Brewing Co.

Anyone who’s proud to volunteer and give back to their community is a friend we’d love to have. There are so many opportunities to pay it forward and make an impact across local businesses and locations throughout Orlando.

Animal lovers can set their best paw forward by spending time with the pups and pooches at Orange County Animal Services or the Central Florida Zoo. And for those interested in the human aspect of community service, volunteer with incredible organizations like the Special Olympics or One Heart for Women and Children.

Exercising is 100% better, easier, and more fun when you have a workout buddy. Across Orlando you’ll find tons of gyms, workout classes, and walking or running clubs to help you along your own personal fitness journey while also providing an amazing community. Finding a crew whose goals and priorities in health and fitness align with your own is perfect ingredient to success and support!

There are Facebook groups for just about every hobby, interest, location, and bucket list stop in Orlando. We love stepping out of our comfort zone to try new things, experience new places, and make new friends!
