One of the must-visit East Austin breweries is Zilker Brewing Company and Tap Room, an East 6th hotspot with incredible beer and access to the Spicy Boys food truck on its patio space. Especially when the sun is out, you’ll find large crowds enjoying the quality, refreshing craft brews. Plus, you can grab a six pack on your way out to bring this iconic beer home so the good times never end!
A popular neighbor of Zilker Brewing Company is Lazarus Brewing Company, a huge spot that’s perfect for meeting up with friends, getting work done, and eating tacos! This East Austin favorite is a fantastic blend of work and pleasure, especially with its awesome patio space to enjoy.
Friends & Allies is one of the more unique breweries in East Austin with one-of-a-kind brews, live music setups on their front patio, and themed nights like trivia night. Plus, you’re able to bring in your own food from any of the food trucks in the vicinity to enjoy with your drink!
For all our sour beer lovers, check out Blue Owl Brewing, one of Cesar Chavez’s gems in the midst of tons of breweries and food trucks. This specific brewery features over 15 types of sours, from IPA to lagers!
If you keep traveling down Cesar Chavez, you’ll hit Central Machine Works, a machine works location turned into a beer hall. This popular brewery features tons of outdoor and indoor seating as well as incredible craft brews, snacks, and a full bar menu in case you want to change things up a bit.
Craft beer and Czech-style kolaches, a unique combination that totally works at Batch Brewhouse. This taproom and retail craft beer store is a one-of-a-kind experience that you and your friends need to try! Grab a kolache featuring Micklethwait and a craft beer and enjoy the casual atmosphere.
Bringing your pup along? We recommend Hi Sign Brewing. This veteran-owned, local craft brewery features a taproom and outdoor beer garden perfect for a casual afternoon or evening with friends. Located by the airport, this is a great spot to grab a world class beer before or after a long flight, or to show your out-of-town friends that come to visit!
This European-style brewery is also located across from the airport and sits on 22 acres surrounded by live oak trees and a 9 hole disc golf course! Live Oak Brewing is one of Austin’s oldest breweries and definitely one of the best. Pair a drink with its well-known hefeweizen or other German dishes, enjoy a round of disc golf, and relax!
If you’re looking for the cozy, neighborhood bar feel, Oddwood Ales is your place. This rustic spot has an outdoor patio and serves small batch craft beer, thin crust pizza, and more delicious dishes. Plus, the patio is dog friendly and the bar has an arcade with occasional videogame competitions!
