Best Halloween Happenings For Spooky Season in Charlotte

Hey, Queen City! Autumn is in full swing and we’re psyched for Halloween – that means scoping out all the most happening Halloween events in Charlotte!

We love Halloween. There’s just something about spooky season that gets us so excited – the costumes, the events, the treats – there’s just nothing like it! If you’re getting ready to celebrate the spookiest (and arguably the most fun!) night of the year, read on to check out our list of some of the hottest Halloween events in Charlotte that we’re looking forward to.

Hattie’s, one of Charlotte’s favorite local bars is jumping in on the Halloween game this year with their very own movie festival!Β 

Hattie’s Halloween Movie Monday will take place every Monday from September 13th until October 25th, showcasing spooky film classics and cult favorites. Admission(and popcorn!) is free. Delicious down-home hot dogs by Plaza-Midwood fan fave Carlos’ Dogs will be available for your dining delight!

Are old school films more your thing? Get on down to the Ayrsley Grand where retro has been the king of the Halloween scene since before we can remember.Β 

From October 1st until November 4th, the Ayersley Grand will put on two iconic, classic horror films a night. We’re talking all the original creep shows like Halloween, Psycho, Friday the 13th, the Lost Boys, and more! This freaky film fest has been a Charlotte Halloween staple for years – don’t miss out!

Get active this Halloween with the NoDa Freaky 5k! Formerly known as NODAween, this incarnation of the event involves a costume marathon, cool prizes and a fun-filled afterparty at NoDa Company Store.

As a 501C3 non-profit organization, net proceeds from the Freaky 5K benefit NoDa NBA community projects. Creep out for a cause!

Carowinds, the Charlotte area’s premier attraction returns with their Halloween spectacular – SCareowinds!
