Head To The Market, See Some Art and More Things To Do In Miami This Weekend

February came and went in the blink of an eye and March is upon us – more importantly, another weekend is here! 

With spring break approaching, there’s so much going on in the city that it can be a bit overwhelming to choose what to do with our precious weekend time. Luckily, we’ve narrowed down another list of the best things happening in South Florida this weekend so you can get the most out of everything going on. From instructional workshops on photography or graffiti, farmers markets, seafood festivals and more, you name it, it’s happening in South Florida this weekend.

Events This Weekend

Pick a color, grab a can and release your inner amateur street artist every Saturday at the Museum of Graffiti’s intimate graffiti instructional class. Classes take place at 2pm and are limited to 8 adults per session.

Purchase of the class includes paint and admission to the Museum after the class is concluded. Ponchos and gloves are provided, but guests are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty!

Seafood lovers, rejoice! The Aloha Polynesian Culture Seafood Festival is serving up all the freshest seafood cooked in authentic Polynesian style. Everything from lobsters, crabs, oysters, grouper, snapper, conch and more will be offered from a variety of vendors. Our mouths are already watering at the thought – we’ll take a little of everything, please and mahalo!  

The festival will also feature live entertainment with Polynesian music, dancers and arts & crafters. Bring the whole family out and enjoy a taste of Polynesian culture!

Artists from across Miami will be displaying their best work this weekend at Naomi’s Garden Restaurant and Lounge for the Tropical Art Fair. Stop by to support our local art scene and soak in some of the best pieces from Miami’s most talented and flamboyant artists, all inspired by their tropical roots and upbringing. Pieces will range from a variety of themes, including jungle, market, fish, travel, vèvè art, African and more.

This is a family-friendly event welcome to everyone of all ages. Food, drinks, and snacks will be available for purchase with a bite size sample of the restaurant’s world famous fried plantains.

Stop by the Coconut Creek Farmers Market this weekend for some delicious eats and craft goods, and support small local businesses! The market features a variety of vendors selling the freshest local produce, bread, cookies, dips, sauces, honey, coffee, jellies, popcorn, dog treats, kitchenware and much more! 

This is a perfect family-friendly outing, so bring the kids and doggos for an idyllic Saturday morning stroll through the farmers market at the TownShip Plaza.

Learn the art of black and white photography at a 2-day workshop led by instructor Sidney Sherman. This special course will explore the beautiful natural scenery of Fairchild Botanical Garden through the lens of a camera.

Sherman, a fine art photographer and self portrait artist who is currently a graduate teaching assistant at UM, will walk students through the importance and techniques of composing images, how light and shadows affect the mood of photographs, and more.
