We’ve compiled this guide of five Italian restaurants in East Austin that have stolen a pizza our hearts, and we’re pretty sure they’ll steal yours, too!

If you’re looking for genuine, locally-sourced, farm-to-table Italian cuisine, Intero Restaurant is the place for you! This family owned and operated Italian restaurant is a sustainably-focused spot dedicated to giving its guests innovative, yet familiar dishes. Choose from various pasta and other dishes to pair with a wine or craft cocktail in Intero’s warm and comfortable atmosphere.

Be sure to save room for dessert! Intero Restaurant boasts house-made, handcrafted artisan chocolates including truffles, barks, and sipping chocolate as well as other traditional Italian desserts in classic, seasonal, and unique flavors.

IL Brutto means “the ugly” in Italian, serving as a nod to the iconic spaghetti western film The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. This classic Italian spot boasts handmade pasta dishes, wood-fired pizza, and heartier entrees. Each dish pairs perfectly with the restaurant’s large selection of wine, cocktails, and beer!

The interior of IL Brutto is intimate and features high ceilings and darker, muted blues, greens, and browns. Plus, the open kitchen features the Neapolitan wood-burning brick oven and the corner patio is built around a giant live oak tree, so there’s plenty to admire while you enjoy your meal!

This East Austin original is a modern, beautiful Italian spot focusing on contemporary fare inspired by the culinary effortlessness of Northern Italy’s cuisine and the rich flavors of Texas. Juniper’s interior design is enough to warrant a visit, but you’ll love the food and drinks that match the decor’s level of class and confidence!

The menu features traditional pastas as well as small plates and lots of vegetables, with dishes like yellowfin crudo, an herloom tomato panzanella salad with peaches, tortellini, and many more!

Patrizi’s began in the 1940s in Beaumont, Texas, and has since made its way to East Austin as a welcomed addition to the area. As a food truck outside the Vortex theater, this is the perfect spot to visit on a beautiful Austin day to enjoy some fresh air and Italian dishes!

The menu features old-school Italian dishes and housemade pasta with some pizzazz and family-centered care. As a family business, Patrizi’s creates a warm and inviting environment for all guests, so stop by for a meal with your family or closest friends and enjoy good conversation with yummy Italian plates!
