📷 Palm Valley Outdoors - Facebook
Sierra recommends: Palm Valley Outdoors
Palm Valley Outdoors has that laid-back waterfront restaurant feel that speaks to the heart of Florida. Great seafood, great music, great drinks, and a low-key atmosphere suits this gem, where you watch the Intracoastal roll by and maybe catching sight of a dolphin or two.
Kayaks and canoes are available to rent so that you can explore the hidden islands and coasts along the Intracoastal. You can also rent water equipment or get bait here and launch right by the restaurant. Once you work up an appetite, grab a fried seafood platter and some gator tail for a reminder you live where everyone else vacations.

Anyone calling themselves a “Jax Foodie” should stay fresh by joining The Scoop Jacksonville Restaurant Reviews Facebook Group! This super-active group not only stays on top of all the latest developments in the food scene across Jax, but users can really be honest in their reviews–keeping the drama as juicy as the food!
The excitement never ends in this Facebook group, so if you can’t get enough insider “word on the street” action, stay in the loop with the Jacksonville Scoop.

Alex recommends: Pet Wants Food Truck
We want our pets to be healthy and live a long time, so make sure their diet is as good for them as our diet is (usually) good for us! We love Jacksonville’s local pet food business, Pet Wants, because not only do they make the absolute best food our picky pets love–they are so genuinely nice and helpful!
You’ll find owners Hannah Kim and Nick Saam at their mobile store, often parked at Brewhound. You can try free samples or inquire about what’s best for your furry friends. They’re always happy to help and give great recommendations.
Also, we love that they actually deliver as well, so you can go online and order your pet’s food and have it brought to you! Pet Wants is the best of both worlds–convenience and super friendly customer service!
Cali recommends: Mickler’s Landing Beach
If you’re looking to explore some of North Florida’s unique beaches, Mickler’s is a must-see! This beach is one of the best in town for finding sharks’ teeth and other oceanside detritus with sprawling natural shorelines. Take a walk down the sand, and you’ll find some of the most isolated spots to camp out at in Florida if you’re looking for a little seaside escape.
Also, this beach comes with full showers and bathroom options at the foot of the entrance, making it one of the nicest, full-service amenity beaches around when you’re aiming to clean up after a day in the sun. There will often even be an ice cream or food truck parked for the ultimate way to treat yourself on a hot day.

Nichole recommends: The UFO at A1A Burrito Works Taco Shop in St. Aug
What is a Mexican UFO? This unidentified flying object isn’t making crop circles–it’s a delicious, handheld hybrid of a quesadilla and burrito!
One disc-shaped crunchy shell filled with meats, cheeses, and toppingsπthis UFO will beam you straight to heaven. It’s the perfect grab-and-go option for roaming George Street during a fun day out in St. Augustine.
📍 671 A1A Beach Blvd, St. Augustine, FL 32080

Kalie recommends: Orsay Happy Hour
This high-end Jacksonville gem has one of our favorite happy hours in the city! With such incredible food, this steal of a happy hour tastes so much sweeter. Get half off a bottle of wine and discounted apps and entrees for a real treat that doesn’t blow the bank account!
Try their famous oysters or delicious charcuterie for small bites or lobster pot pie for a real decadent local favorite. Wash it down with your favorite wine and you’ve got a date night that feels like a celebration!

All Day Saturday 11AM–7PM

Amber recommends: Trash Panda Flea Market
Started by local Rosalie Lagao Hoboken, this all-inclusive, sub-cultural flea market has our name written all over it. A super unique pop-up bazaar of cool, Trash Panda provides local creatives and entrepreneurs with a community event to hawk their wares.
In addition to being a hip place to get cool stuff, Trash Panda always has local DJs, live music, and food and drink specials. It’s a great place to meet like-minded community members while browsing a full spectrum of artists, record distributors, vintage hustlers, event promotions, small businesses, yard sales, and beyond.
It’s a perfect event for spreading cultural growth and awareness in Jacksonville that brings out the inner trash panda in us all.
📷 Town Beer Co. - Facebook
Kayla recommends: Town Beer Co.
This small bar is run by the sweetest young couple who are always behind the bar and know their customers by name. They both really care about the community and who they are serving, plus it’s the trendiest bar you will walk into! We think this makes Town Beer Co. the best community hub “Cheers” bar we know.
Between serving up all the best local beer in town, you can find vintage movies or even jags games playing on the wall by a projector screen. Hop on their leather couches and stay awhile while sipping their natural wine that (word on the street says) keeps you from having a hangover!
