Can you believe it’s the first week of August, Atlanta?! It feels like just yesterday were we kicking off the start of the Summer, only for us to now find ourselves at the beginning of Fall!

Nevertheless, we’ve got you covered per usual with a list of the best things to do in Atlanta this weekend. From a rocking live concert by the band ‘Kings of Leon’ to a funny-bone activating live set by comedian Mike Epps, there are some awesome events happening this weekend!

Mike Epps is known for his iconic roles in classic pop culture films such as ‘Friday After Next’ and ‘The Hangover.’ Whether he’s performing live or acting in a film, he is no stranger to having a crowd laughing so hard that it’s a struggle to catch their breath. With over 20 years under his belt as a professional comedian, his set in Atlanta is sure to be a killer!

In order to recognize and celebrate the blossoming of ATL’s signature dogwood trees, The Atlanta Dogwood Festival has been a tradition for over 70 years. This event is perfect for foodies and art lovers, as Piedmont Park finds itself loaded with a variety of local arts and crafts, interactive activities, and food vendors.

Take a trip to the ultimate fantasy land as you enter one of the only places you will ever see multiple superheroes, villains, creatures, species, and characters from different franchises all at the same place at the same time! The ATL Comic-Con is a 3-day event filled with your favorite comic books, exclusive toys, tons of cosplay, and celebrity appearances. Start working on your costume now – the bigger, the better!

Kings of Leon are recognized for their moody, sensuous sound as well as the sheer poetic brilliance found within their lyrics. Although the band is not as rowdy and flashy as your typical band, the quartet utilizes intensity and raw emotion found in tracks such as their smash hit ‘Use Somebody’ in order to fascinate their listeners.

Continuing on the ‘Wildcard Tour’ that was halted ahead of schedule last year due to COVID-19, Miranda Lambert is one of the most popular country singers in the world! From her soulful juggernaut hits to flirtatious girl power anthems to wistful odes to love, a show from this artist is sure to include a taste for everybody in attendance!

Peachfest is a massive fruit festival that takes place within the Dogwood Festival. This event is great for foodies looking to embrace communal agriculture as they join winemakers, chefs, farmers, brewers, and more who serve items themed around the state’s signature fruit: The Georgia Peach!
