A Story By

We’ve got tunnel vision all 2021! We’re setting our intentions and having fun while getting things done!

This week you can expect workshops like What’s Your 2021 Vision that’ll help keep you on the right track all year long, to Dinosaur George that’ll help ignite your exploration side!

Want to know what else is going on? Keep scrolling to find out! We have events for the whole family to enjoy, there are always TONS of Things to Do in San Antonio!

Reminder: Due to COVID-19, we understand there’s not as much going on as normal in our city. But not to worry, there are still plenty of Things To Do In San Antonio This Weekend that can be done while social distancing. Be sure to double-check for any updates at events and venues before making plans to head out.

Our favorite is shopping and trying new yummy food, it’s a plus for us when it’s local and we know we’re getting great quality! This is what the New Braunfels Farmers Market provides, whether there’s rain or shine!

They believe that “buying local is not only great for the economy but also encourages a healthy lifestyle.”

The vendors list a phenomenal and we want everything! They have something for everyone, from “Gourmet Texas Pasta” for all of your daydreaming needs of fancy parties once COVID is over and done with, to “Lone Star Bath Treats” because we can’t forget about our Self Care!

3. The 2021 African Market Festival

Learning and appreciation are at the top of our list of resolutions or shall we say “intentions” of 2021, and this event will definitely help us out with this.

Òlàjú which means “one who is enlightened” (in Yorùbá,) will be hosting its 5th edition of their annual African Market that will exhibit African arts and culture.

The theme for 2021 is “We’ve Been Here” to recognize the very long history they’ve had in all professions around the world! Showcasing both up and coming and established artists from across the continent and in the Diaspora.

Mission statement: “Our mission is to advance the development of contemporary African art as a tool for cultural education which we do by organizing associated programs and services.”

What to expect:

  • Main Stage (Will be hosting talks, performances, & presentations.)
  • Marketplace (There will be multiple vendors/artists selling Afrocentric goods.)
  • Art Gallery (Expo of original African photography.)
  • DJ Booth (Live mixing of the newest contemporary African music.)
  • Cafe (International African yummy goodies, including food & drinks.)
