Good news hockey fans, outdoor hockey is coming to Dallas! That’s right, the 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® is taking over DFW for one of the most anticipated games of the year.
About the Winter Classic®
A tradition that started in 2008 when the Buffalo Sabers took on the Pittsburgh Penguins, the NHL Winter Classic® pays homage to the roots of hockey and is one of three games played outdoors–the other two being the NHL Heritage Classic® and the NHL Stadium Series®.
The 2020 NHL Bridgestone Winter Classic®, held January 1st, 2020, is the southernmost Winter Classic® game to date. Fun fact: the Dallas Stars are the 9th team to host and the 12th team to participate in the Winter Classic!
The game starts at 12:30PM, at the Cotton Bowl® Stadium. Did you get your tickets? The game technically sold out, but there are resale tickets available for purchase if you’re still looking to go–just make sure you don’t forget your jacket! GRAMMY Award-winning duo Dan + Shay will headline the entertainment, so you’re in for a great day.
Didn’t get tickets to the game? No worries, you can always catch Winter Classic® on TV and enjoy the action from the comfort of your couch.
The best part about hockey is definitely the fans. Celebrate with your fellow hockey lovers at the Truly Hard Seltzer® NHL® PreGame. A game ticket is required to enter the pregame, so make sure you have that with you!
You can enjoy pregame activities at the Cotton Bowl® Plaza from 9AM–8PM and at the State Fair of Texas Midway from 9AM–12:30PP, as well as postgame to 8PM. For more info on the fan festival and what you can enjoy, go here.
