Welcome to one of the best cities in Texas! Whether you’re new to San Antonio or looking for some fun as a local resident, there is plenty to do in the famous Alamo City. And just like you’ll remember the Alamo, you’ll remember these excellent bucket list finds! 

As your go-to guide to the city, UNATION has curated this guide to help you find some of the best things to do while exploring our Texas gem! Of course, you already know to explore The Alamo and catch a Spurs game if you can, but we wanted to include some hidden gems as well!  So, if you’re looking for tasty foods, creatively crafted drinks, places to explore, and even more, get ready to read!

Looking for activities under the San Antonio sunshine? San Antonio is home to some beautiful spots you’ll want on your bucket list! From incredible flora and fauna to relaxing rivers, you’re sure to find somewhere to breathe in some fresh air and enjoy the long Texas days. 

San Antonio Botanical Garden Bucketlist

Whether you’re looking to chase waterfalls or explore San Antonio’s history, our city has plenty to add to your bucket list when it comes to being outdoors!

Explore 38 acres of this living museum made of both native and imported flowers and plants at the San Antonio Botanical Garden! With art pieces, plant sculptures, and winding paths to see, this horticultural beauty is a must-visit!  If you’ve been here and done that, head to the Japanese Tea Garden for a century-old garden with Japanese architecture and the dreamiest of ponds and waterfalls. 

If you’re looking for a hiking spot, hit the Mission Trails! San Antonio is home to the largest concentration of Spanish colonial architecture and you can hike some of these beautiful missions for a walk you’ll forever remember! But, if you’re looking for a favorite local pastime, rent a tube and float down the Comal River. The cold water is perfect for the days of Texas heat when you want to have fun with friends.

San Antonio 2M Smokehouse Bucket List

For all the foodies, snack lovers, and those who just LOVE to eat, get ready to add some tasty goodness to your bucket list!

As the top dog in the BBQ world, we had to include a San Antonio favorite! 2M Smokehouse is home to some of the BEST BBQ in our city with exceptional pitmasters, a great environment, and heavenly food. (I mean, just look at the picture above!)

If your BBQ taste buds are looking for something a bit different, head to Curry Boys BBQ. This fusion spot brings Texas BBQ and Southeast Asian Cury together for a PARTY in your mouth.

If you’ve crossed BBQ off your bucket list, check out Los Azulejos for vibrant and flavorful Mexican cuisine, don’t forget your margarita though! Wanting classic American food packed with flavor or award-winning fried chicken? Head to Earl Abels. But, if you’re an Italian lover, Capparelli’s On Main is a San Antonio staple.

Trust us, you WILL be in love forever with San Antonio’s bar scene. Your bucket list may not even have room for all of the amazing bars in our city but don’t fret, here are a few of our favorites.

Amor Eterno is a craft cocktail bar offering elevated food and an awesome environment. Soak up all the SATX vibes here with delicious drinks and fun events like vinyl nights where you can listen to great music and enjoy the intimate spot.

If you’re looking for some history with your drink, head to The Esquire Tavern for a moody experience with one of the oldest bars in San Antonio,  opening in 1933! If a rooftop bar overlooking the city is more your vibe, head to 1Watson for delicious cocktails and gorgeous views!

Our wine lovers will enjoy ReRooted 210 for local wine in an urban spot but those of you who are not sure of exactly what you want, head to the Modernist. This spot doesn’t have a menu with expert mixologists who curate a drink based on what you like!

If you’re looking to visit history in a different way, Bad Wolf Ghost Tours will guide you through San Antonio’s most haunted spots! You can even do a haunted pub crawl if you need some liquid courage. ?

If you want to experience SATX food in a fun way, spend the day with SA Food Tours. But, if you’re an art person, take the San Antonio Street Art Tour to explore the murals covering our city.

If you’re an adrenaline junky looking for something to get your heart pumping, head to Six Flags Fiesta Texas for rollercoaster riding or race your friends at K1 Speed! Who doesn’t love friendly and fast competition?

If you’re looking to two-step or experience some country activity, visit Tejas Rodeo for good food, dancing, live music, and of course the rodeo! Or, if you’re looking for a performance, check out the shows at the Tobin Center.
