Shop ‘Til You Drop At The Boutiques In Downtown Philadelphia

A Story By

The Philadelphia area is a shopper’s paradise! There’s something for everyone when it comes to shopping in downtown Philadelphia. Whether you’re looking for a cute new outfit, stylish home décor, a gift for a friend, or just to browse, the city has something for you. Next time you head out for a day of shopping, check out some of our favorite boutiques in downtown Philadelphia.

Franklin & Poe embodies a masculine, rugged, yet polished aesthetic. It’s a great place to shop for high-quality denim and leather goods, knit tops, and travel bags, plus fashion-forward accessories like beanies and slub socks. It’s on the pricey side, but shopping in downtown Philadelphia at Franklin & Poe is a worthwhile investment. You can rest assured that the pieces you purchase here will hold up to years of wear and tear.

If your taste leans less towards the cutting-edge and more towards the vintage and handmade, you’ll feel right at home at Weavers Way Mercantile, one of the top boutiques in downtown Philadelphia. The Mercantile is a general store that stocks one-of-a-kind finds including furniture, pottery, candles, soaps, and more. When you treat yourself to a purchase from the Mercantile, you’ll directly support local artisans and minimize your carbon footprint. Running low on groceries? Stop into the Weavers Way Co-op while you’re shopping in downtown Philadelphia (it’s right across the street).

Shopping in downtown Philadelphia and community activism go hand in hand at The Outrage. This boutique’s mission is to support progressive causes, including disability justice and LGBTQIA+ rights, while connecting others with ways to do so, too. The Outrage doesn’t just sell (super-cute) clothing and accessories with on-brand slogans; they organize marches, help customers register to vote at the checkout, and more. If you want to change the world (while shopping at boutiques in downtown Philadelphia), The Outrage is the place for you! They’re currently in the process of moving from Old City to a new Philadelphia location, but you can always visit their website to learn more about their mission and shop online.
