A Story By

Are you ready to buy a new outfit? Maybe grab a sandwich at Primantis and some sweet treats afterward? Yes, you are, it’s time to bring out your inner Elle Woods and get ready to “shop til’ you drop.” The Strip is known for its fabulous places to eat, but its retail and specialty stores should not be missed either. Shopping in The Strip District never felt so fun, so check out these incredible places to treat yourself to something nice.

Food & Specialty Stores

Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop, for the sweet tooth’s and the nostalgic, this where you can get your fix. This locally owned spot is lined wall-to-wall with every candy known to man. You can find brand new candies and childhood favorites that you haven’t seen in 15 years, plus a large selection of craft-brewed pop sodas.

Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate! Mon Aimee Chocolat, is The Strip Districts’ prime place to pick up some cocoa. Almost 20 years in the strip, Aimee has introduced locally fine-made chocolate and other award-winning sweets from over 60 countries. If you are in the mood to drink too, definitely order one of their chocolate cocktails…a true must try!

This is where you can get a little tipsy, stock up, and feel good without feeling guilty. Why? Because you’re supporting Pennsylvania businesses. Pennsylvania Libations is a craft wine, spirits, ciders, mead, and beer distributor. Feeling good never felt so easy and guilt-free by supporting small businesses, so come on and get your drink on.

Shopping in the Strip District can be  draining. You’ll want a fresh boost of energy and Allegheny Coffee & Tea Exchange is your stop to energize. With a plethora of coffees and teas to take home and brew yourself, try their coffee bar before you buy so that boost can get you through. Maybe even give you a new flavor for your workweek morning routine.

Cook, clean, and cut are what this shopping in the Strip District is all about. Since 2002, In The Kitchen has served Pittsburgh foodies, culinary students, and head chefs for their savory creations. For fun, for life, or it’s your career, and you need to cook, stop here to get all essentials to make you great.

Want to give that special someone the perfect gift or decorate the outside of your house and make it pop? Roxanne’s Dried Flowers, where the outside comes to life even when it’s dead. Decorate your home or terrace with these dried works of art and can even pick up perfumes made from carefully selected and crafted flowers.

Retail Shops

Your one-stop-shop for anything artsy and beautifully handmade clothing. Made from Nepalese light and soft fabric, these clothes will keep you cool and looking good without even breaking a sweat. Lucy’s not only selling clothes but jewelry, scarves, and accessories to soften up your wardrobe.

Shopping in the Strip District never felt so cool. Taking 17th, 18th, and 20th streets with over 160,000 square feet, making it the Strip’s new shopping center. This long stretch revitalization project of a historical 412 landmark is turning the area into even more of a must-stop destination with dining, retail, and beauty shops. The Strip Terminal is Pittsburgh’s next East Carson Street!

GO STILLERS! Yes, the golden grail of Steeler attire and clothing. Yinzers in The Burgh, where the Strip District gets a little more black and gold. Anything you want with your love of the Steelers, they have it, mugs, hats, shirts, sweatshirts, even terrible towels but for a great price.

For over 20 years, Mahla Co & Antiques has been the place to find all that old gold. Mahla serves up precious antiques and incredible relics that can make you star-studded. Vintage clothing and a room with 50s retro-futuristic furniture and style will make you feel like you went into a time machine. The only problem is you can’t tell what year but that’s the fun!
