It’s no secret that Charlotte LOVES their craft beer. But with so many amazing local breweries serving up some pretty incredible beers, what’s not to love?
We say we’re pretty lucky to have these guys spread out throughout the Queen City. With so many to choose from, we decided to compile a list of some of them for y’all.
Probably one of the most beloved and most well-known breweries in all of Charlotte is Sycamore Brewing. A South End staple that’s always a good time. Not only are their beers and ciders so unbelievably tasty, but their Rosé cider is one of our absolute favorite brews!
If you’re not a big beer drinker, no worries. You can still enjoy your time at Sycamore at one of the (many) awesome events and parties they throw during the year. If you’re a Charlottean you’ve for sure been to their Spring Fest or their Red, White and Brew Fest. They always somehow end up landing some pretty rocking bands as well.
They also host a bunch of smaller events as well like their Food Truck Fridays, pop-up workout classes, sushi classes, and so much more! Plus whenever they release a new beer, they have release parties that feature live music and special deals. If you for some reason have yet to visit Sycamore, we highly suggest putting them on your summer bucket list!

Rooftop views of Uptown and Bank of America Stadium on a perfect clear Charlotte day? Yeah, sounds ideal right? Well, that’s what you can get if you visit the Unknown Brewing Company.
Unknown is just one of those breweries that make you feel welcome from the second you walk in. We love all of their beers. We also love talking to the knowledgeable staff about any suggestions or picking their brains on which beers/ciders are there favorites!
Earlier this year they threw their 5.5ish Music Fest and Anniversary and we had an exceptional time. Our favorite part wasn’t even the bands, but the stage they created from all the empty cans of Unknown Beer.
If you’re looking for other events to attend at Unknown they have a puppy walk every Sunday, trivia nights, and more

One of the OG breweries in Charlotte celebrated their 10th Anniversary this year! Hats off to one of the greats.
With amazing beer, live music, and a massive outdoor Biergarten area, it’s no surprise that they have been a Charlotte favorite for as long as they have. OMB is one of our favorite go-to spots.
Some of our favorite events of theirs has been their Anniversary Party, Louisiana Spring Fest, and beer release parties. As much as LoSo is changing and developing we know we can always count on OMB sticking around.

If you’ve ever read up on Legion Brewing, you would come to learn about the pretty cool backstory on why it was started. In essence, Legion was started under the notion that sharing good beer with friends is one of life’s great pleasures.
What they’re doing for sure seems to be working. In the last year, they were able to open their second location in South Park. Each member of the Legion team forms a crucial part of the greater family. When you sip on their beer you can feel the love that went into each one.
Some of our favorite events that Legion puts on are their run clubs, live music, pints for purpose, and watch parties!

Ever wondered what the three C’s in Triple C stand for? Well, we’re here to tell ya that they are craft, community, and commitment–and the folks over at Triple C have nailed all of them!
For starters, their craft beer is insanely delicious–they have evn won themselves not one, but two bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival. So you already know it’s good. When it comes to the community, they love to put on awesome events that bring everyone together. Some of our favorites are their Improve nights or Dumplings & Bluegrass.
One of our favorite aspects of Triple C is their commitment to the environment. Whether that is donations to the Catawba River clean-up or how they donate leftover spent grain to local farms for their livestock, they’re constantly thinking of new ways to create a better and greener brewery!

What happens when two knowledgeable, beer-loving best friends get together and decide to open a brewery? You get Wooden Robot Brewery. A South End favorite that always has great vibes.
One of the things we love about Wooden Robot is that they refer to their bartenders as “beertenders.” These guys are way more than just your average beer pouring bartenders. They all carry cicerone certification, which is a certification that educated beer professionals in order to elevate the experience for the customers.
Another reason we’re so obsessed with Wooden Robot is their delicious food menu. Think dry-rubbed wings, mac and cheese egg rolls, cauliflower nugs–and that’s not even the half of it. Every Sunday they put on “Kegs & Eggs,” which includes $5 mimosa specials, beer and juice shots specials, and so much more
There is no denying how insanely awesome the Bot really is.

Heist began in 2012 as Charlotte’s only Craft Brewpub and is now a household name throughout the Charlotte beer community. Their main focus is creating small-batch beers featuring everything from IPA’s to Imperial Stouts. This is a true beer lovers spot.
Not only do they have incredible beers, but the brewery also features an extensive craft cocktail collection and over 100 different types of whiskey. For all you foodies out there, Heist features a tapas style menu that features produce, meats, and dairy from local farms. Talk about keeping it local!
Our favorite thing to do at Heist? Obviously, their Music Bingo that they host every Thursday at 7PM! If you haven’t been yet we highly suggest getting the crew together!

It’s no secret that NoDa has dramatically changed over the past decade. With so many awesome new bars and restaurants opening up monthly, one of the constants since 2011 has been NoDa Brewing Company. Although they have temporarily closed their N. Davidson location, they’ve got the same delicious beer from their N. Tryon location.
Some of our favorite events include their Run Club, Trivia nights, and Hop Yoga.
They also offer brewery tours weekly to give their customers a chance to see what really happens behind the scenes! Plus, if you get hungry, one of our favorite food trucks, Tin Kitchen, is always slinging delicious food from their parking lot.
All in all, NoDa is one of our favorite spots. They just seem to do everything right and we’re here for it!

When you think of the craft beer industry, you may not necessarily think of it as a women’s industry. Well, we’re here to tell you that anything a man can do a woman can do better! That’s what the ladies over at Bold Missy Brewery are proving.
Not only are their beers delicious, but they’re also inspired by some pretty famous ladies. For instance, their Solo Flight, English Brown Ale, is inspired by Amelia Earhart. They feature tons of other beers that are inspired by everyone from Annie Oakley to Sally Ride. Pretty cool if you ask us.
We love to hit up Bold Missy on Thursday’s when they offer $4 full beer pours on all of their beers. Talk about a way to celebrate Thirsty Thursdays! If that doesn’t tickle your fancy they offer a weekly Run Club, Music Bingo, and Zumba in the Brewhouse every week.
We highly recommend checking them out if you’re in NoDa.

Birdsong was started by a group of friends who love great beer and great people. They dreamed of sharing their passion with others and in December of 2011, that dream became a reality. Their whole mantra is about enjoying excellent beer while having great conversations.
From the second you walk into Birdsong you instantly become part of the family. Grab a beer, sit back, and make some new friends.
There are many reasons to love Birdsong. One is that they have live music on the weekends. Just make sure to check their calendar to see who’s playing! Another is that they always have awesome food trucks as well on weekends. PLUS, they don’t limit it to just the carnivores. They have food trucks such as Sun Burger Vegan and Taza, which offer some amazing food that everyone can enjoy!
Birdsong really does have it all! Don’t just take our word for it, go check them out yourself!

Lenny Boy Brewing has a wide variety of options for everyone–both alcohol and non-alcohol drinkers! Their menus consist of organic kombucha, traditional ales and lagers, gluten-free wild ales, gluten-reduced beer, sours, and alcoholic kombucha.
One of the best reasons to visit Lenny Boy is that you can watch their ale, beer, and kombucha all being brewed from their viewing walls. Not many places give you a first-hand look at how the magic happens!
Their kombucha is sold all over the East Coast and their beer is served all around the Carolinas. Their taproom is the perfect place to hold your next event! We’ve attended a couple of pop-up classes a Lenny Boy and they’ve all been amazing!
If you’re looking to get your sweat on, you’re in luck because they offer boot camps and yoga classes that are entirely open to the public! The best part? You get to enjoy some tasty Lenny Boy drinks afterward.
