Soles4Souls with Island Brands: How You Can Help

A Story By

We are so excited to bring you the opportunity to get in a great workout, drink a light and clean beer you can feel good about, AND donate to an amazing cause that helps get people on their feet (literally).

Island Brands has launched an initiative to help Soles4Souls, a Nashville based charity that not only donates gently worn shoes to homeless children in Nashville, but also sends them to third world countries to allow women to resell them and create a business for themselves.

Island Brands has partnered with local gyms around the Southeast to set up Soles4Souls donation boxes and make it even easier for you to donate shoes, when you go in for your workout. Why gyms? Island Brands has just released Island Active, a clean beer with no fillers or preservatives. It’s perfect for your active lifestyle, and you’ll be craving this crisp cold lager after a hot and sweaty workout!

Keep reading to find out a bit more about each aspect of this awesome cause!

Soles4Souls creates opportunity and relief for those living both in the U.S. and globally. They collect shoes and clothing, both new and gently used, to distribute to those in need. Their efforts positively impact so many facets of life.

Sustainability: By collecting these items, they are kept out of landfills and are put to use rather than being discarded.

Health: Illness and injury can be prevented by having adequate clothing and shoes. Additionally, being properly outfitted can have contribute to mental health needs, by providing dignity and normalcy to those living in poverty.

Opportunity: Allowing women to start their own entrepreneurial business gives them the tools that set them up for longevity, not just short term satisfaction.

Locally, Soles4Souls runs 4EveryKidInNashville. Did you know that there are roughly 3,000 homeless children that attend Nashville public schools? Soles4Souls wants to relieve children from any embarrassment they might face by not wearing decent shoes or being held back from participating in sports, gym class, etc. Shoes might not seem monumental to some of us, but they could make a huge difference in the experience that homeless children face every day.

Island Active is produced by Island Brands, a brand that was born after the founder’s desire to bring better beer to Cuba, inspired by his travels. Its original lager is a smooth and easy everyday beer, that doesn’t cut any corners. It is brewed with 100% clean ingredients, and those standards are upheld with the latest release, Island Active.

In a market being saturated by hard seltzers, some of us still just want to enjoy a frosty beer. Island Active is only 88 calories… which is actually LESS than popular seltzers. You get the same great taste without the negative ingredients. We can picture ourselves relaxing all summer with one of these in our hands.

Where can you get Island Active in Nashville? Right now, it is sold at the following Publix Super Markets:

  • 4324 Harding Pike, Nashville, TN
  • 6614 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN
  • 2324 Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN
