Tampa Bay is the home of amazing teams such as the Lightning, Buccaneers, and Rays, and the sports bars in downtown Tampa are where it’s at to cheer them all on! While downtown, you can enjoy any sporting event at a variety of great spots that each have their own unique vibe.
Next time a game is on, slip on your jersey and watch your team play at one of these incredible sports bars!
There is no doubt that Park & Rec is one of the most entertaining sports bars in Downtown Tampa. Youth has no age there! Cheer on your team while you play arcade games or even trash can beer pong, Jenga, and connect four. Order their signature Party Pouch–it’s basically an adult version of a Capri Sun. If you’re hungry, we highly suggest you crush a “Return of the Mac” pizza with your friends. It’s not your ordinary pizza, it’s topped with bacon, scallions, and mac & cheese!
Hattricks is one of the more popular sports bars in downtown Tampa that is just blocks away from Amalie Arena, AKA the home of the Tampa Bay Lightning. There is nothing like watching your favorite hockey team dominate while sipping on some beer and snacking on wings–and let us tell you, Hattricks wings are some of the best! We recommend ordering the Garlic Parm/Lightning wings shake n’ bake style. Head there for happy hour to enjoy 85 cent wings and awesome drink specials.

In the heart of downtown is another one of our favorites, The Anchor Bar! If you’re all about sports and beer this is definitely one of the sports bars in downtown Tampa that you need to visit. The Anchor Bar has a magnificent beer selection that always includes local picks. It’s a smaller, low key kind of bar with great prices and tasty food. When we go we always order the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls and couldn’t recommend them more!
American Social is tucked in Harbor Island right on the water. It’s a large restaurant with four full service bars, a bunch of TVs, and both indoor and outdoor seating. AmSo is one of our go-to sports bars in downtown Tampa because of the views and the deals. On Monday, they feature delicious burgers for only $5. In addition, enjoy all you can eat tacos every Tuesday. We also love how it transforms when the sun goes down to more of a nightlife vibe!
Everyone welcome Butter’s Burgers to the neighborhood! Butter’s is one of the newer sports bars in Downtown Tampa that serves crafted burgers, cocktails, and beers. It’s the ideal spot to catch a game or two with a group of friends. One glance at the burger menu will make your mouth water–we love the North Ashley Drive which comes with mushrooms, fried Prosciutto, and Swiss. All of the burgers are so juicy and are served on caramelized buttered buns. They even have a black bean burger for our vegan friends!
Raise a pint and root for your team at Channelside’s very own Irish pub, Maloney’s. This is one of the sports bars in downtown Tampa with a laid back atmosphere that lets you unwind and dine. Maloney’s has daily specials from Sunday to Thursday that includes deals on beers, wings, fish n’ chips, and more! If you’re not in the downtown area, you might want to check out their other locations in Westchase and Carrollwood.
We bet you didn’t know that Splitsville is more than just a bowling alley! This sports bar in downtown Tampa at Sparkman Wharf has massive HDTV’s that air all of Tampa Bay’s home teams. Watch them play while you play feather bowling, ping pong, billiards, foosball, darts, or shuffleboard. With a menu inspired by two-time James Beard Award winner Chef Art Smith, classic Southern fare is front and center. Get the Hot Honey Chicken Biscuits, you won’t regret it! Splitsville is a great destination for dinner with friends, Lightning games, and family-friendly activities.
Some of y’all may recognize The Pint and Brew from Safety Harbor but their other location is in downtown Tampa, right across the street from the Hilton. We go there to watch the game but mainly to stuff our faces with their decadent selection of grilled cheese sandwiches! Enjoy different types of grilled cheese from a mushroom melt to a Tampa Cuban and even a pizza flavor. Gluten-free options are available too! In addition to the sandwiches, they have a wide array of amazing beers on deck.
If you’re looking for quality sports bars in downtown Tampa, there’s a hip and modern British pub called Yeoman’s that you need to hang out at! The inside is spacious and full of eclectic pop art and memorabilia–just step into their classic English telephone booth and snap a pic. Their menu is filled with appetizing options but our favorite food from there is served during brunch! Pop in with your friends on an early Sunday afternoon, sip on a Bloody Mary, listen to live music, and catch a football game.
Underneath SkyHouse apartments in Channelside is where you can find District Tavern. Every time we go there to cheer on our Bucs, Lightning, and Rays we always end up in a food coma. Everything on the menu is amazing–especially the Tavern Shooters. It’s essentially a grilled cheese with gouda, brie, and pancetta served with a roasted tomato bisque! If you’re feeling really hungry, devour some DT nachos too. It’s one of the sports bars in downtown Tampa that is open late every night, so if your team wins you can keep the celebrations going until 3AM!
Taps is a sports bar meets wine bar that is located right across from Curtis Hixon Park. What sets aside Taps from all the other sports bars in downtown Tampa, is their extraordinary wall of beer. What beer do you like? We will bet you they have it! In addition, they have impeccable small bites to eat and specialty cocktails to sip on while you watch your team play on one of their large TVs. On their menu you will discover a few different types of bruschetta to try, we suggest the mushroom!
