All the Info You Need on the Spring Training Games in Tampa Bay

A Story By

Are you looking for spring training games in Tampa?  We’ve got you covered!  From Lakeland to Clearwater, there are so many spots for spring training games in Tampa.  Check out our master guide below and pick based on your favorite team or based on your location!

New York Yankees (Tampa)

Take a trip to see the Yankees but without the cold weather!  See one of the nation’s most beloved teams right here in Tampa Bay.  Watch the New York Yankees spring training at Steinbrenner Field!  Parking is located across the street from the field, check out their parking website for more details!

They’re currently operating at 25% capacity to keep everything safe, plus it is all outfoors!  Tickets are sold in pods of two to six seats with contactless ticketing, so you can be sure that you’re sitting with your crew.  They even have contactless food and beverage sales, so you don’t have to skip out on the best part of baseball: the snacks!

After the game, hit up one of our favorite spots – like Riveters or Cigar City Brewing.  Riveters is an eclectic “Rosie the Riveter” themed bar and restaurant, serving up our favorite American bar eats.  Cigar City Brewing is a local brewery, perfect to share a flight with friends!

Toronto Blue Jays (Dunedin)

Want a taste of The North in Tampa Bay?  The Toronto Blue Jays do their own spring training in Dunedin!  See the Canada team do what they do best at Dunedin Stadium, an outdoor destination perfect for any baseball lover.  Parking is in the grass lots, along Douglas Avenue, and the local homes also sell parking!  After the game, our favorite spots to visit are Rosie’s Tavern and Dunedin Brewery, for a laid back vibe!

Dunedin Stadium is operating at 25% capacity and tickets are sold in pods of two to six seats with contactless ticketing!  Cashless forms of payment are encouraged too.  Please note that no bags are permitted, unless it is medically necessary or to hold baby items.  Fans will not be permitted to attend spring training, in the prior 14 days, they’ve contracted COVID, experienced symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has COVID.

Philadelphia Phillies (Clearwater)

Are you a Phillies fan?  Or do you just want to see some baseball?  Well do we have the event for you!  Enjoy baseball in Clearwater by watching the Phillies spring training at Spectrum Field.  Then after the game, hit up some of our favorite sports bars in Tampa Bay!  We recommend Pete and Shorty’s, and you can’t miss the original Hooters!  But if you want to eat during the game, the stadium concessions will have contactless options to place orders!

Spectrum Field is operating at a limited capacity, done by selling seats in pods of two, three, or four tickets through contactless ticketing.  Fans must wear masks at all times, except when eating or drinking in their seats.  No bags permitted except for medically necessary items, including diaper bags. A buffer zone of 12 feet will be set up for each dugout, and batting practice may be viewed from the ticketed seat.

Detriot Tigers (Lakeland)

Are you looking for something to do in Lakeland?  Check out spring training at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium!  The Detroit Tigers are doing their yearly spring training, which is always a super fun event.

Tickets for Tigers spring training home games have already been sold out, as only 2,000 of the 8,000 available seats were sold at Publix Field.  Fans will be seated in pods from one to six seats in sides, and will be socially distanced from other pods.  Grassy berm seating may be available though!

Berm seating will be marked off in 6-foot-by-6-foot spaces. Masks must be worn by fans except when eating or drinking; gaiters are not permitted. All concessions and merchandise sales will be cashless.  If you’re worried about food, no problem!   All food will be prepackaged to lessen the amount of people the food comes in contact with.

After the game, we recommend grabbing a drink with your friends.  Lakeland has some great bars to choose from, but we love Federal BAr and Yard on Mass!

Baltimore Orioles (Sarasota)

Check out the Baltimore Orioles in Sarasota!  They do their yearly spring training at Ed Smith Stadium.  Plenty of parking is available for $12 in several lots on and around Ed Smith Stadium.  The stadium is operating at 25% capacity, using pod seating of two and four tickets.  Fans must wear masks in the stadium, but you’re alright if you’re eating and drinking.

Contactless ticketing will help everything at the stadium go smoothly, but remember to not bring a bag!  Bags are not permitted unless for medical or baby reasons. Concessions will also have contactless options, and eating and drinking is only allowed at your seat.

Pittsburgh Pirates (Bradenton)

Are you in the Bradenton area?  You don’t have to go far for some baseball!  Check out the Pirates spring training at LECOM Park!  There are plenty of grassy lot locations to park too, so there will be no issues at the stadium.  After the game, hang out with your friend for a bit to eat or watch the game at our favorite Bradenton restaurants!  We recommend Darwin Brewing Co. or Motorworks Brewing,  Rocca’s Pizza Pasta Grill, and BirdRock Taco Shack.

The stadium is operating at approximately 25 percent capacity at LECOM Park with seats being offered in two- and four-ticket pod allotments through contactless ticketing.  Masks are required when not eating or drinking, and bags are not permitted unless needed for medical or baby reasons.  When you get hungry, you can order food through contactless concessions!

Please note: autographs will not be permitted.

📷 TB Rays

Rays

Are you a mega Rays fan?  Catch them in the offseason if you miss watching their games!  They don’t play in Tampa Bay for spring training but luckily they are just a drive away in Port Charlotte!  They’re doing contactless tickets, so check out their website for details on tickets and schedules.
