Started in 1979, the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dallas is a 44-year-old tradition that is now the largest St. Patrick’s Parade in the Southwest. The event typically brings over 125,000 people to the 2 mile stretch of Greenville Avenue that runs between Mockingbird Lane and Park Lane.

You can expect to see more than 90 floats and more than 1,700 participants. See bagpipers, bands, leprechauns, Dallas Mavericks stars and more as you watch the parade go by!

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dallas isn’t the end of the celebration. Actually, the party is just getting started! The accompanying St. Patrick’s Day Festival is fun for the whole family! Walk along the parade route to explore shops and vendors from around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Check out the festival’s numerous stops including the tailgate at Goody Goody Liquor and the official concert featuring The Toadies at Energy Square. Take the kids to the Comerica Bank Family Zone to enjoy activities geared toward the younger crowd.

Start St. Patrick’s Day in Dallas off on the right foot by taking part in the annual 5K race! Race, jog or stroll down Greenville Avenue with hundreds of others kicking off the day with a little exercise. Join the sea of green by donning your race t-shirt, and be sure to pick up your “Lucky” St. Paddy’s Day finisher medal as you cross the finish line.

After the race is when the real party begins! Enjoy the After Party with music from DJ Dame, a spirit tutu contest, and a donut eating contest. Plus, those over 21 can visit Yuengling Flight Beer Garden. Hang around after the race to watch the parade and enjoy the festival located on the same street you just ran down!

Lower Greenville St. Patrick’s Block Party

A St. Patrick’s Day staple in Dallas for over 30 years, the Lower Greenville St. Patrick’s Block Party is a must if you’re ready to party! The biggest block party of its kind, this 21+ event is almost-anything-goes and features three stages with live music and DJs.

Mix and mingle through the crowds as you grab a drink from one of the beer tents or stop in at one of the eight participating bars – Blue Goose, Dodie’s Reef, The Dubliner (Dallas’ oldest Irish pub), Stan’s Blue Note, Terilli’s, Halcyon, Christies Sports Bar, and Sister Restaurant. Though the block party runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the party won’t truly stop until the bars close at 2 a.m.
