Stuff to Do in the North Shore of Pittsburgh

A Story By

North Shore is one of Pittsburgh‘s most iconic hot spots for Yinzers. It’s home to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. You will find yourself finding lots of fun things do all year round at the North Shore!

One of the best aspects of North Shore is the amazing Pittsburgh City view you can get. Just look at it!

There are MANY things to do in the North Shore of Pittsburgh whether you are looking for places to eat before a ball game or just a cute date night, we’ve got you covered!

If weather permits, The River Walk is a Yinzer favorite. Perfect for date night or even a day out with the kids! As you walk along the Allegheny River, you’ll pass some of Pittsburgh’s most beloved landmarks, like Heinz Field and PNC Park.

And if you happen to be walking along during the summertime, you will pass docked boats with waving Steeler flags hoisted in the air.

Before you make your way along the River Walk, start your journey alongside the Roberto Clemente Bridge.

Not only will you see an amazing view but also hundreds of locks from couples locking in their love and throwing away the keys into the river!

Heinz Field serves primarily as the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers as well as the Pittsburgh Panthers College football team.

If you’re lucky enough to pass Heinz Field on game day, you will hear the famous “Here We Go Steeler’s” chant from miles away and a field of yellow flags, also known as “The Terrible Towel.”

If you catch yourself looking for something to do on a spring or summer day, head on down to PNC Park, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates! Grab a soft pretzel and a pop and watch the Pittsburgh Pirates take on the Reds for the 2020 home opener on April 2nd!

Don’t forget to cheer on your favorite Mrs. T’s Pierogi in the famous Pirates Pierogi race!
