The start of a new year is perfect for new beginnings and new adventures. For us, we love looking forward to the city’s biggest and most exciting events! We’ve gathered five of our most-anticipated events in Charlotte for 2020. You guys won’t want to miss these!
As always, don’t forget to download our app to stay up to date on what’s going on this year!
With all the drinking and eating festivals that happen each year, it is nice to have more relaxed festivals that focus entirely on the arts.
Festival in the Park takes place each September in Freedom Park. This is one of the oldest art festivals in the city! For just three nights, Freedom Park turns into an artist’s haven. Nearly 1,000 entertainers and well over 180 artists come to the city to celebrate.
This event is perfect for any art-loving person, and is definitely just a glimpse into our city’s growing art scene!

The Renaissance Festival is definitely a Charlotte “must-do” every year. For the festival, history comes alive with non-stop, all-day entertainment, arts and crafts, games, jousting tournaments, and more.
There are also some very unique rides such as Da Vinci’s Flying Machine, the World’s Largest Rocking Horse, and Voyage to the New World. We highly recommend checking out this family-friendly event.
Keep a lookout for their coupons, so you can save some money on their admission! We can’t wait for this event to come back.
We can smell the turkey legs already!

The U.S. National Whitewater Center throws a pretty neat festival every April that celebrates the outdoor lifestyle. This exciting four-day festival is filled with several different demos, competitions, workout classes and, our favorite, live music.
If you’re curious, the competitions include trail running, kayaking, biking, climbing, stand-up paddleboarding, obstacle, and adventure racing, Unless you’re competing in the competitions, this festival is free to attend.
Here are just a few of the live music acts that will be playing this year: The Suffers, Birdtalker, Boy Named Banji, ONA, Neal Francis, Oliver Hazard, and more TBA.

What’s better than craft beer, burgers, and live music? Nothing! Moo & Brew is back and better than ever.
Taking place at the AvidxChange Festival Grounds, this festival features allows guests an unlimited sampling of amazing beers from over 50 local, regional, and national breweries. Along with that, there will be 12 well-loved Queen City restaurants competing for burger bragging rights and a “Best Burger Trophy!”
This festival is always a great time. This year, Blues Traveler, Matt Maeson, Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band and special guests will take the stage.

We think a Rich & Bennett Pub Crawl is a “must-do” if you’re looking for a fun way to explore the city.
What started as a small pub crawl among friends back in 2001, Rich & Bennett’s Pub Crawl has grown into one of the largest, and one of our favorites, pub crawls. From the St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl to the Annual Halloween Pub Crawl, to the NYE Party and the AMERICRAWL, we think you definitely have to check them out!
