For all of you that have decided to stay in town this Memorial Day Weekend and don’t have access to a boat but are dying to get on the water, the USNWC is throwing their Annual Memorial Day Celebration!
The festivities go all weekend long starting with River Jam each night this weekend. For those who don’t know what River Jam is, it’s a free outdoor concert that the USNWC puts on every year from May–September. During holiday weekends, live music is also played on Sunday night.
If you’re looking to be active this Memorial Day you’re in luck because there will be LOADS of ways to get moving at the USNWC. Starting Sunday morning at 9AM there is a 5 mile and 8-mile trail race.

What’s more American than baseball? Perhaps, maybe, hot dogs? What about if you combine the two? And combine them on Memorial Day? Yeah, sounds like the ultimate way to spend your Memorial Day.
The Charlotte Knights are playing the Durham Bulls, Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays this Memorial Day. If you haven’t been to a game at the BB&T Ballpark yet, this is for sure a game you will not want to miss. Fans, no matter the age, will be able to enjoy $1 hot dogs Sahlen’s Hot Dogs during the entirety of the game! Unlike alcohol, there will be no cut off times for these babies.
BB&T Ballpark is located in beautiful Uptown. There are loads of places to visit after or before the game to grab a drink or two. Our favorite is Graham Street Pub, you can’t beat their rooftop views of the stadium.
Just a friendly reminder not to drink and drive this holiday weekend! Luckily, the stadium is within walking distance of the Light Rail, just jump off at the Third Street/Convention Center stop and walk a couple of blocks and your there! Or if you are itching for football season and feeling nostalgic hop off at Stonewall Station to walk past Bank of America Stadium.

For those who are not familiar with Joyfest, it’s an annual Gospel concert series that takes place at Carowinds every year. There will be performances all afternoon and will carry on into the night (maybe even past park hours).
Park admission is included in the $54 adult ticket. There are other ticket prices and discounts for season ticket holders available as well. Come on what’s better than loads of concerts and admission to the best theme park in the Carolinas? Not much if you ask us!
Pastors who attend Joyfest are invited to a special Cheesecake Reception hosted by Energize Ministries, which provides proactive, preventive care to pastors, ministry leaders, and their families.

A Mimosa Festival coming to Charlotte? Where do we sign up? Time to celebrate the real MVP of brunch!
One of our favorite breweries, Unknown Brewing Company, is throwing the First Annual Charlotte Mimosa Festival on June 2nd. You may be thinking, “Interesting for a brewery to be throwing a Mimosa Festival,” BUT we’re here to tell you these guys know what they’re doing.
For starters, there will be UNLIMITED mimosa tastings all afternoon. Unfortunately, VIP tickets are already sold out but if you were one of the lucky ones who opted to get VIP tickets, you scored an extra hour of tasting starting at 12PM, a private VIP bar area with catered food, and unique mimosa flavors. No worries if you didn’t though, GA still gets you hours of unlimited tastings and a bunch of different flavored mimosas to choose from.
If and when you get hungry you’ll be happy to know that there will be some amazing local Charlotte food trucks on site dishing out food all afternoon. There will also be pop-up shops for those of you who love to get their shop on. Oh, and we can’t forget that there will be live music playing all afternoon.
